Lets get out there and see some movement. Use your camera to show movement of any kind. Stop action like at a sporting event. Slow movement like a car going by but just seeing a streak of light. Maybe use rear curtain sync with a flash to show something has moved, but the flash captures the stop action. Maybe use a slower shutter speed at a baseball game to capture the movement of the bat.

Maybe there's a small water fall or water fountain near you. Take a picture using different shutter speeds to give a different type of action. Real fast to show the water droplets, and realy slow to give that milky white look to the water.

Action comes in many forms. I know this is a big season for high school fall sports starting back up or other kids fall sports.

Get out there and use your camera. Use it. Learn it. Love it. Then post it. :)

Please try to keep the posts to pictures that were taken during this month. If you run late and can't post till October, thats ok. We wont deduct points. Also try to post the EXIFdata. That can help with the learning process. ISO, Shutter speed, aperture, white balance, any EC (+/-), meter mode. These are the most useful ones.

Remember the most important thing about these assignments..... HAVE FUN and Learn. :yay:

I'll start out, but I really wish I had used a slower shutter speed.

oddly enough, i was trying to take different action shots before i read the assignment for this month but 2 hrs after handicap posted it so i guess this sort of maybe kind of counts since it was 9/4;)
edited cause i had to look up lake erie surfer guy's exif up and it just dawned on me i think photobucket might put in the max aperture in stead of the actual aperture used sometimes so i 'll check those sometime as well( it did for one)

A few more shots from the Phillies/Rockies game I went to last week. These are more on the action side than one's I posted on the baseball thread.

Can't decide whether to post the "mess up" or the capture first.

OK, first the mess up - I cut off the top of the rocket, but it seems to show the action better (focus issues aside ;) ). I think I was startled!

I got the whole rocket here, but it somehow doesn't seem as exciting. I best keep practicing. :)

This was at a criterium bike race last weekend actually sponsored by my team and this is one of my teammates. I have 2 hobbies. It's obvious which one I was doing on this day......
