Now through the end of June our subject/topic will be:
Buildings/Structures/Cars.

Anything having to do with these things. Being a Disney forum some of the most famous buildings are Cinderellas Castle, Sleeping Beauty's Castly and Tower of Terror. Some structures are Mickey's Hat at MGM and Mickey Mouse ears water tower at MGM. Some cars would be the new characters from the upcoming movie Cars and Herbie the Love Bug. Again, this isn't limited to Disney. Maybe there is an old or historic building in your hometown/city. Or a really cool bridge. Maybe you like cars and there is a car show. I know I'm going to take a day for myself and head to Boston or down to Cape Cod and look for lighthouses (I love lighthouses)

If its possible and you know how, add your exif data (camera type, shutter, f/stop, ISO, Lens distance) with your post. Also why you chose to take the pic and what you were trying to capture. This might help others learn more about the photography world and exposure.

Take some pictures, get creative and have some fun. And don't be affraid to ask questions.

A couple of questions?

Is there a due date or just post the picture during the month?

Do we just upload the picture to one of the photo hosting sites and link to it from our post?

Thanks for taking time to start this thread and come up with the assignments I think it will be a lot of fun.

Is providing feedback to one another allowed? Similar to what's being done on another thread here? I think that'd be a big help, too.

Just post the pic/pics whenever you have it ready. I keep my pics at photobucket.com. I find it easier to post from that location. You can copy the img from there and it will appear here.

I'm sure a littlel bit of feedback and comments are good, however if you are looking for critiquing then I would maybe also post the pic on the other thread (thats what that one is for). If you do have specific questions on your pic that you would like answered, then go ahead and ask. Thats how we learn.

Here I go first:

It's taken about 1 block North of my house in Markham, Ontario (Canada)

This chuch is featured in the movie "In the Mind of Madness", a very good thriller/horror movie IMO.

Thought I would post one and see how it goes. Like most i suppose I like taking photos for fun, even more so when I am on trips. So here is mine. It was taken during my flight layover in Detroit in the South West Terminal. Just looking out of the balcony I was on over the conconcourse looked cool. Hope this falls within the topic as its the inside of a building/structure, not the outside. Photobucket srinked the orginal photo so its a bit smaller then the orginal file.

Got a chance yesturday to take a drive into Boston. I got the idea for this picture from a magazine cover. This is the enterance to Fenway Park. Lighting was a bit tough, a tree blocked the sun and the brick is on the dark side. I took a bunch. I liked this one best used with a higher ISO than I started with originally. I also used Aperture Priority. There is a bit of an angle and I wanted to get some shart DOF throughout, though I don't think I needed to in this particular shot compared with others I took. This angle isn't as bad. Also f/11 isn't going to give me much in the way of DOF.

Canon S2-IS
Auto Mode (New user - only thing I've tried so far) ;)

This is from my Panasonic Lumix LZ5.
6x zoom.

I was standing in line at Autopia and took this picture of the cars on the track. If only that blue car under the bridge had been just a little faster!

This was totally on auto. I just got this camera and haven't figured it out very well yet. I will say it was difficult to use an LCD screen instead of a viewfinder. It makes photography tricky in the bright sun when you can't see that screen!

Resolution: 613 x 447

Just took kids to see Xmen 3(at the drive in), this picture reminded me of a scene.

holy huge metal thingie, Batman... I mean, Anewman.

Glorious picture !!!!!

I was going for the "Structures" part of the assignment.

I know, but it's not often a small-sized display of a picture can still project the grandeur of the object. Kudos on that!

Wow - these shots are really nice. Where is that bridge? Barrie
