Phone upgrade...

Hi...hoping to get some help.
I am due for a phone upgrade on Verizon.

Any thoughts of which phone is best?? We currently have the original Envy. Not sure if I want the newer one of that or something else.

Anyone know or have the Rogue...do you like it?

The only two phones I would even consider from Verizon are the Motorola Droid or the HTC Eris. One of my friends works for Verizon Wireless and has used both. He thinks both are the best phones he has ever handled. I also believe in the long term the open model will end up being the dominant force in the smart phone world, despite the iPhone's current dominance.

I agree, wait for the Droid! I'm due for an upgrade later this month with Verizon and can't WAIT to get my hand on a Droid!

Don't get the Rival. DD has/had one, and after 2 months, the screen stopped working. From googling, this seems like a common problem.

We have a replacement on the way for free, since apparently they will replace for a year for free. If we wanted a different model. we would have had to pay full retail price. If the replacement goes bad, we'll keep getting the free replacements until next year when we can switch to a different phone without the high cost.

I'm also looking on e-bay for a better phone for her, but so far it looks like she'll be stuck with the Rival. Meanwhile, I'm spending the weekend taking out and putting the battery back in, hoping for a few minutes of working screen so I can forward pictures, music, and text messages to my phone so they can be saved. I hope she appreciates me...

I'm having so much problems with this company and my phone right now. Anyway, I've heard the HTC phones are really good; I might get one of those.

The droid is coming out next week I believe, so if you don't care about prices, you might want to wait for that one.

DD got the Rogue 2 weeks ago and LOVES it. I am due an update too and think I am getting the Rogue.

I was looking at the EnV3 in maroon, but prefer all the Rogue has to offer. DS likes his enV touch. I may wait and see the Droid in person, though doubt I need that. Does anyone know if it requires a data plan? I think it is $200 though, vs. $79 for Rogue.

My daughter has the Rogue and loves it. I thought she'd dislike it due to the size, but she said she's gotten used to it and is really happy with her choice. I gave her my upgrade, so now I have to wait a long time to get a new phone. sigh.

The only issue DS has had with the touch is that it will become unlocked IN his pocket and scroll up on its own and call people! This has happened 5 or 6 times since June. I think if he did not throw it in his pocket it would not be an issue.

DD has not had this issue with the Rogue, but she has it in a snap on plastic fitting pink case in her purse.
