I've just rented points from a DVC owner. What number can I call to confirm the ressie?

While they sometimes do, DVC Member Services is not supposed to assist non-members with reservations. They may ask for the member number and, unless the person your rented from provided that, you won't get the information you want.

I'd just call the resort directly and tell them it's a reservation booked on points and the reservation number.
