Phone Service question....

Hoping you guys can help, as I know things like Vonage have been discussed here.

Anyway, we are moving and our new security company are requiring we have a landline phone, which we do not have, nor want! I am SO mad about this really. I don't want or need another bill or close to $30 just to have my security system activated. They of course won't let us out of the stupid contract with them either. UGH!

Do you know of any landline phone services besides our local one, that might offer a cheaper plan for a phone that will NEVER be used?

What are you using for your internet service? If it's DSL or cable based, perhaps you can get a less expensive phone line through them.

Call the local phone company and tell them you want the cheapest line they offer. Most have a line that they put in and you pay for what you use. If it never gets used, you only pay the small monthly fee.

We have cable phone service. I never thought to ask Vonage if they offer anything.
