Trying to add a room location request to our reservation because of course MDE won't allow me...called instead, was on hold for 1:10:00, until I had to hang up.

Is this a typical hold time? Is there a better time of day to call?

Oh man it’s the worst today. I held for 2 hours and 21 mins (kept getting passed around to different cast members) only to be told that the system was down and to try again tonight! Ahhhhh! :crazy2:

Arguably it's better to call first thing in the AM. 7AM. Start of a fresh day.

I do agree today was probably due to the military discounts being released (which I believe you can only book via phone if I'm not mistaken).

No. That is a crazy hold time for any time of the day, any day of the week. As a PP indicated, there must be a new or special promotion out that's jamming the lines. Those few days of the year when much-anticipated new deals are released are when the waits get crazy.

0 - 20 minutes is a typical wait time range for calling Disney. I've called them lots of times, never worry about when I'm calling them, and have never had anything even approaching an hour wait.

Every time I call WDW Reservations I have to enter all my personal information before being connected to a cast member. Then when I get through to the cast member, they ask me for the exact same information. When I ask them why is that, they say "they get asked that a lot but don't know why. We don't make the voice recording."

I think the wait times are up now not only due to the military discount but for the same reason you are calling, anyone wanting to make room requests has to do it by calling. The online feature is broken for all resorts for everyone. Not to mention you have to call to add and drop days. There are more and more reasons you have to call. I bet they haven't added more agents

That is unusual even for discount drop days...I agree on the calling in the morning. I call at 6 am est whenever I need something done. Mostly its because that is when I get to work but I find the cast members to be super helpful and they don't have to rush to get off the call.

My experience is a wait of 20 minutes-1.5 hours, with an average of about 45 minutes.

One of my top tips to them would be adding a callback feature.

It was crazy this afternoon, I waited 75 minutes to place a room preference request for my upcoming October reservation. I was wondering what was going on.
