Just back from a quick trip to WDW. My luggage is still on vacation. I did Resort Airline check-in this morning. Checked in 2 bags at 650am for a 1020am flight. I physically saw the 2 bags get loaded onto the truck at 715am from the ME stop. I got home to NY and there was no luggage. Went to baggage services and the bag was not checked in at MCO until 935!!! Too late for my 1020 flight! Unless there was a 50 car pile up behind my ME bus this shouldn't have happened, right? They should know what time a bag needs to be at the airport.

Does anyone have a phone number to call to complain? Not that they can do anything but I feel it should at least be on record. Southwest is hoping the bags are on the flight getting in at 6pm today. And of course stupid me put my blood pressure medication in the bag :sad2:

I can't give you a good answer. I would start with calling Disney, then maybe DME....although I'm not sure what good it will do. But, perhaps one of them can send you in the right direction for the appropriate person to talk to.

Thanks. I know the Resort Airline Check in is not part of Disney. I think they work directly for the airlines. Again, I know there is nothing to do I just think I need to log a complaint with them. It will make me feel better.

I don't think it would bother me so much if my son's "Indiana Jones Gun" wasn't in there because you had to check it and not carry it on. So for the next 5 hours all I will hear is "Are the bags here yet" "Did you find the phone number?"

I am not sure if this number will work, but here is the number you call before going to RAC if you need to pay for baggage. They may have another number for you. This was on Disney's website.

Baggage Airline Guest Services at (407) 284-1231

I checked SW's site, it really doesn't give a time limit for Orlando, it just says "more than 45 minutes". It was exactly 45 minutes, depending on where it was off loaded, they should have had time to get it to the plane.

Even if your bag was checked in at 9:35 it should have made the flight. We just returned and they were loading luggage on SW up until 10 min. before the flight. The problem may be more with MCO than with RAC. In our experience with lost luggage it has been the airline at the airport that was the problem. There are actually times when the airline leaves luggage off the plane due to weight restrictions for the plane. Our daughter and her friend were flying AA to the Dom. Rep. and check-in at JFK well over 2 hours ahead and their luggage, along with 8 other peoples luggage was left off the plane on purpose because the plane was getting too heavy. You can file a complaint with RAC but it may not be anything that they did wrong.

Thanks Everyone!!! I'm just going with "My luggage wasn't ready for vacation to end so it stayed 6 hours longer than I did"

I don't think the 9:35 arrival at the airport for a 10:20 flight has anything to do with your bags not being loaded on the plane, that should be sufficient time for the bags to make it, it just seems like various faults lead to the bags ultimately not making the flight.

As another poster pointed out, there could be many reasons it didn't make the plane once it arrived, including security screening, weight, etc.

Occasionally an airline will deliberately leave luggage behind due to weight issues. The choice is to either leave luggage behind or leave a few passengers behind.

I doubt this is the case here. More likely if the flight was leaving from an airport with short runways or the flight is near the limit of the plane's range.

Southwest requires luggage be checked in at least 45 minutes before your flight (MCO). That deadline was met.

Southwest and MCO had the opposite concern. They didn't want large quantities of RAC checked luggage being delivered to MCO hours before flight time.
