Phone Cards

Whilst in Disney last year we had a bit of a family problem back at home in England. Due to this we were calling home a lot. We got our phone cards from the front desk in our hotel. The thing is it cost us so much money to stay in touch with our family. The cards we purchased were $20.00 each which gave us hardly no talking time at all. It cost us over $200.00 in phone cards for the 2 weeks whilst we were there.
I have hard that you can buy a card from places on International Drive (we are staying here this time) which cost the same but gives you so much more time limit. Is this true? And if so where can we buy them and give us some advice on how it all works.

Vinny, I usualy buy my cards from the shop in my hotel.This time (been home 1 week) they cost $10 and had over 2 hours talk time.

Hi there i buy my phone cards before i go from the Post Office they are very good and start from £5.00 upwards last year i bought a £10 one and it lasted for all of the holiday hope this helps you have a great time

We always buy our phone cards in WalMart - AT&T ones. They are much better value for money. one at $8.88, 120 minute card, will give you 30 minutes of call time to the UK. They have ones that go up to 1000 minutes!!!!

This may be a silly question but we don't usually buy phone cards when we go to Europe as I don't have anyone to phone (only have 2 sister left and they don't expect me to call) but when we go back to Florida next year we will be taking my daughter's boyfriend with us on our extended trip. He will want to phone his mum but they don't have a landline and only have pay as you go mobile so won't be ringing him because of the cost. Can these phone cards be used to mobiles and if so does this reduce the time on them by alot?

Yes , I used the cards to phone mobiles back here is the UK. The number of minutes does get reduced by a fair amount but sorry I cant remember by how much.
