Hi everyone,
i was just wondering if anyone knows if it's better to get american phone cards over here or in orlando and if so where's the best place to get them and which ones.
Cheers Lee.

We've tried quite a few different ones  and have come to the conclusion that its' definitely cheaper to buy a card in the US than here, and that those sold in the 7-11 garages/shops give the best value for overseas calls that we've found :).

Be a little wary of the AT&T cards as they seem really expensive!
Maybe it was just our experience but they charge $2 or so just to connect!
These are the ones you can buy from WDW or Universal. We bought one from the hotel shop - no idea what network but we got many more minutes for our cash!

I've just used Click4Prepaid and $20 gave me 400 minutes calling time to the UK!! I tried my best, but only manage to use up 90 minutes!! At least I never worried about my phone card running out. Highly recommended.

If you aren't going any where to pick one up in the US you can get one from any Lunn Poly travel agents. We had a £10 one last trip and we made about 4 calls back the the UK and still had credit left.

Where did you get this card sounds great
we used the one you get in the hotel lobby ATM i think 5 minutes for$10
Beware of the room phones cost us $20 just to leave a message on my sons mobile
and another time when my aunt was sick i phoned home a few times from the room over $300

We had one from the drug store in the Florida mall which was useless - one call and it went!

I try and use the ones from Walgreens - I think that's the right drugstore - there's one on the 192 on the opposite side of the road but near to the new Crackerbarrell - have i got the right name?

Anyway 10 bucks buys you a lot of minutes and i never used it all. I bought a card from them in New York a few years ago and was lucky enought to get two cards for the price of one! That's what I call a bargain :0)

:cheer2:

jns - just click on the link and register with them using your credit card to pay. Then you get an access phone number and a PIN just like any other phone card but without the bit of plastic!! And if you run out of credit, you can add some more.

You can then use the hotel phone without any worries - at Disney I think you press 8 before dialing the access number and then your room bill is charged just the 75 cents for the local call.

Click4prepaid is a great reccomendation. We bought $35 worth, very easy to do. This gave us over 700 minutes call time to the UK.
DD age 17 used 600 of these minutes to phone her BF! All call time is good for 1 year.

I bought one from th hotel the last time we were there and it seemed to last for ages. We phoned home every couple of days. :teeth:

COSTCO is about the cheapest in the United States. Not sure if the cards you buy from them in the UK are the same as the ones they sell in the US.
