PHM 2015-In Pursuit of Cupcakes While Running in Glass Slippers

WEDNESDAY WONDERINGS...

What is your favorite and least favorite countries in the World Showcase...don't start talking food and drinks (save that for next week)!

My favorite probably has to be...Morocco. I am not sure why other then it is so exotic and I love the buildings & tile. Least favorite...Canada. There is just really not much there! Or maybe by the time we get to Canada I am worn out and done with looking at countries...This year I want to start with Canada and make my way around!

Wait...I can't talk food or drinks when talking about World Showcase?? What else is there? :lmao:

Ok, ok, architecture. I can do this. resist. drink. talk. :bitelip:

I would have to pick Morocco because I LOVE the look and feel of it but Mexico is actually a close 2nd. In fact, the indoor area of Mexico might beat Morocco just a smidge. I love how it looks like you are in a town square at night, the fountain, the colors...*sigh* :cloud9:

I have to agree about Morocco...the lightning at night even adds more to the mystery!

Hey ladies! I haven't posted here since the beginning of this thread and have a very hard time keeping up with you all but I know you are all super helpful so I had a question for you.

I am an AP holder so will I be able to early register the other 3 girls I am coming to the race with that aren't pass holders? or do they have to wait?

Thank you!!

My favorite country in World Showcase is Mexico. I love the inside temple- the sounds, the market, the lighting... and even that ride!

My second favorite area is probably Japan- I love the outside koi pond.

Followed closely by the American Adventure Inside Building. What can I say, I'm a history buff & I love the paintings depicting our history and such! :)

Favorite is UK pavilion. I love the gardens and Christopher Robin's room. Also love that I can find all the products I used to eat in England that are hard to find here. Yummy! Also love the trains outside the Germany pavilion. Norway would be a top contender if they still had the cool playground.

Least favorite... Maybe American Adventure. Kind of boring, Morocco is also up there since there's nothing to do there but shop and eat.

I actually stopped to think about England because I am a self- professed Anglophile. I LOVE everything about England. The culture, the history, the TV, the dry humor, even the 'bland' food! Love it all. England is probably my favorite place to go ever in all my travels. I could easily live there....

But for whatever reason, England in Epcot doesn't do it for me. I don't know why?! Maybe because we always start in Mexico and I'm dealing with tired, cranky family by the time we hit England so we don't stop to enjoy it.....

Maybe because I want the real deal....

I don't know. It's so weird to me that I love England so much but don't really care for the England pavilion.

The whole WS is my favorite!! Why are you making me choose?? Ok, if I must choose, I choose...the whole thing!

Ok, ok, fine...I like Mexico, Japan for Mitsukoshi (sp??) and NORWAY for the trolls. Norway might be the winner. I'm telling you, I really love those trolls. (also, I choose it as the winner partially b/c I loved Akershus before it was a princess meal, but we're not supposed to talk about food! And I've never eaten there as a princess meal, so I have no idea if it's even close to the same!)

The US pavilion is my least favorite I guess, just b/c it's not really exotic. But I hear they have great bathrooms, lol.

We were there for Easter on year and they had egg hunts in the maze. I think that really put it over the top for me. Plus the awesome Peter Pan sculpture they put out during flower and garden.

Funny story for y'all though. When we took our exchange student we ate in the Germany pavilion (where he is from) and he convinced my kids that he has to wear lederhosen to school as a uniform. Lol.

Favorite - Germany - after visiting Germany in 2012, I love to go to the pavilion and re-live the memories and absorb how well-done this pavilion is - and how close to German reality. And Karamell-Küche, but I think I just cheated.

Least favorite - China - I just haven't ever been able to get into much there, other than a little shopping.

Oh my gosh ... this is a tough one.

Most favorite .... The UK. Like the new band a lot, but miss the British Invasion :-/

I also love France, Germany and Italy.

Not as hip on Norway and American Adventure, except I do love Eat to the Beat concerts. I want to see Howard Jones so bad, but I've missed it by a day each time. He's not on the schedule this year. Bummer.

Hmmm...my favorite is probably either the UK or Germany. I can't really decide. The UK, like someone else mentioned, is this familiar place since I used to live abroad and am a bit of an Anglophile. Least favorite...hmmmm....maybe Canada or America (is that un-patriotic), but I think it's because they aren't exotic to me?

ANYONE KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS...:confused3

My favorite country in World Showcase is Mexico. I love the inside temple- the sounds, the market, the lighting... and even that ride!

That would be my children's favorite part of Mexico...the very last ride we had to go on during our Christmas trip was that right...:confused3:rotfl: And then my dh kept asking for Mexican food and I wanted to hit him over the head because that is what we eat at home...not at WDW!

My second favorite area is probably Japan- I love the outside koi pond.

Me too...

Followed closely by the American Adventure Inside Building. What can I say, I'm a history buff & I love the paintings depicting our history and such! :)

I love the displays inside...and all the quotes!

Another Anglophile here, too! I love all things British History...in another life I must have been in Henry VIII's court at Hampton palace...I have a weird fixation on the Tutor time period! And I love the story of Mary of Scots...

But for whatever reason, England in Epcot doesn't do it for me. I don't know why?! Maybe because we always start in Mexico and I'm dealing with tired, cranky family by the time we hit England so we don't stop to enjoy it.....

I have the same feelings...but again I think it is always late by the time I get there and sick of touring...although I have eaten at Rose & Crown all 3 times...can't get enough of those fish and chips. This trip...I am starting on the Canada side so maybe I will appreciate UK and Canada better! Although after being in London this summer...

Maybe because I want the real deal....

I don't know. It's so weird to me that I love England so much but don't really care for the England pavilion.

Andreah "SEES" trolls...

Cheated, but you can so go there...warm buttery caramel corn...

Least favorite - China - I just haven't ever been able to get into much there, other than a little shopping.

I love the buildings of China!!!

Wow...we all have the same tastes!

I did it! First 5am wake up call this morning. Run was actually really nice. It's amazing how refreshing it can be when it's still relatively cool. I downloaded the "Go You Chicken Fat Go" song that's featured in a commercial right now. DH asked me last night in bed, did you set your alarm so I had to do it. Sadly, I couldn't sleep last night and was till up at 3:45, but I still got up and did it! 14:40 splits and 14:29 mm avg pace. Not too shabby. Now to repeat getting up tomorrow!
