Hi,

i was wondering if anyone got a good airfare for sept yet? do you think there will be good dings like last year? we got $49 each way last year,,,,

fingers crossed!!

wendy

Hey Wendy,

I'm also waiting for some good prices - we're leaving 9/29 and coming home 10/4. $49 dings would be FABULOUS! Are you going to book as soon as the rates come out (we always take the 6:25 flight down - it seems to fill up fast so I'm a bit worried) and wait for Dings! or just wait all together?! I have no idea which would be better...

When are you going down??

Last year we got $37 each way Ding fares on SW. Of course we originally booked at $79 each way, so I re-booked and received credit.

This year, I did not wait for SW.
We booked air thru Disney with our package at $129 r/t with Airtran.
We will be going 9/27 - 10/3.

Dave, we were in on that same deal. First booked at $79, then a $49 Ding, then it was like $38 to MCO and $34 back to PHL. With energy costs the way they are now I think those days are over. I hope I'm wrong.

Wow less than $90 round trip would be ideal!!

so you all pretty much recommend booking as soon as rates come out and then switching when (or if) a Ding! comes out?!? I'm so worried that I'd somehow loose my seats after cancelling the one reservation and before I book the other...??

How is Airtran as compared to SW?? I'm a very scared little flier so I like to stick to things I know.... $129 is a good deal, though!

I have never flown Airtran before. I understand they have new planes and good customer service. The only fear I have is that they are known for changing flight times more often than most airlines. I'm talking like 4 to 6 hour changes. I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I'm trying to find a good deal from Philly as well. I don't know if I want to wait for the DING, because sometimes they are only good for travel on certain days of the week which might not work. I'm interested in the $129 AirTran deal, but I'm not sure how to get that. I hear you need to book through Disney directly, but I haven't found a phone number to call for that....please help me?

thanks!

p.s. Anyone else from NE Philly? Hello!

Can you only get this rate with a package? I've been shopping for Airtran fares for August and have been astounded at how high they are. I'm used to paying no more than $79 each way, and right now the cheapest I can get is $99 for non-nonstop flights. That's just unacceptable. Is it because they have a special through WDW that they're not reducing their fares on their site?

Yes. It is a special available when you book the free dining plan package thru Disney.
Airtran was running a sale on their website for $79 each way, but that ended on May 5th.

You can book the package through a travel agent and get the same great AirTran fares. It doesn't have to be booked through Disney.
I have booked the MYW package with air for several clients from PHL and they all got good fares.

Yes. Good point.
That's actually what I did. Booked through a TA, which booked thru Disney.
