Just booked my Oct 31-Nov 8 trip. 59 down and 79 back!!! Very excited! Rates were like 300 something yesterday when they opened the dates!! MNSSHP here we come:cool1:

I got $59 fares on Airtran for the return leg of our Disney cruise on Nov. 7. :cool1: :banana: :woohoo:
Of course it does end up costing extra to choose seats and check bags but I like returning with Airtran cuz they participate in DCL's Onboard Check in. It's worth it for that convenience alone. :lovestruc

Now I just have to wait for Southwest to open their schedule on Apr. 7 so we can get our 10/30 flight down. I have an award to use and I hope there's availability. Gotta love Jersey week!!:love: :cloud9:

Have fun @ MNSSHP! :goodvibes

Wow, you're lucky. I've been trying to book PHL to MCO for a quick trip in April and I keep getting such high prices so I haven't booked anything yet. That's a great fare that you got!

Keep your eyes peeled. Between Airtran and Southwest you're bound to find a good deal. We just took a little getaway end of Jan; Airtran down- $54. Southwest return-$59.
You just have to keep checking and when you see it, be ready to jump on it.

My DH already put his vacation in for April. I wish he had asked me about it first so that I could check the airfares. You know how those prices can fluctuate depending on the dates of travel. Oh well, I'll just work with his dates and see if I can make it happen. He knows that I never give up when it comes to finding a good price. ;)

Me too for June. At this point, we're driving. I refuse to pay $300 pp from philly! I've been checking just about every day, too. :confused3

I lucked out with SW fares $59 each way for my June trip. But I'm traveling Monday to Monday, which helps. I have been checking the fares for my neighbor is going Sat to Sat....hers is over $300 round trip. :scared1:
If she flies in Friday night it is only $109 versus the $194 to leave Saturday morning. At that price, she could book a room via Priceline for one night and still come out ahead......

Yes, I saw this too. To the pp who's considering driving: if your dates are flexible and you could do a Tues-Tues, Wed-Wed you can easily get $59 each way. jmho, but I think I'd do just about anything to not have to drive. well, not anything.;)

AAAUGGGHHH.....Jetblue is torturing me by waiting to release their dates. We like to fly them out of Newark because the drive is easier then going to Philly but I'm afarid if I hold out for JB the rates for AT will go up. On a different note Allegiant Air out of LVIA has $29 fares right now!!!! I feel like I'm gambling....yikes!

I see that AT charges $15 for 1 checked bag...is that true???

Who doesn't love a great deal! For our upcoming May trip we were able to book SW..$54 each way per person. with taxes and everything included, it was under 700 bucks for 5 of us! Plus with Southwest we have the luxury of checking 2 bags per person with no fees!!! The luggage fee alone would have cost us $175... I think we would have spent jusst about the same amount of money if we drove...in my opinion, you couldn't pay me enough to do the drive!
Traveling Wed to Wed definitally helped, but I saw great rates even for weekends...

What is the DCL onboard check-in?? We're taking our 1st cruise in Nov. too.

Ah-ha..I found this
" What is Onboard Airline Check-In?

Onboard Airline Check-In is a convenient service that provides Guests who have purchased Disney Cruise Line® air or ground transportation the ability to check in their luggage for their flights and receive their airline boarding passes before they disembark the ship."

at disneycruise.com but it doesn't tell you which airlines participate.

I know...I wish we could change our dates. My DH already put in for his vacation, and he can't take more than 6 days anyway. I'm going to keep checking right up till the end and see what happens. My DH really wants to drive...crazy, I know!:eek:

Normally everyone puts their luggage outside their stateroom door the night before debarkation. (keep clothes out to wear for next day) They pick up bags all night long and store them in the cargo hold to speed getting them off this ship asap in the am. Then they line them up in a big warehouse where you stop by after you get off and gather your stuff then go thru customs. (lots of porters available) After customs, you bring your luggage out to the DCL bus, private pick up, your own car, etc.
On our 1st cruise we stressed out about getting off Castaway Cay in time to check in at the 24 hr. point with SWA too. Who wants to rush off? It's paradise! :cloud9: :lovestruc

We tried onboard check in last Nov. and they delivered our boarding passes to our stateroom the day before and we walked off the ship with one small carry on full of pj's and boarding passes. What a breeze! We didn't have to wait in the long lines at MCO to check luggage; just go straight to security. :cloud9:
You do have to pay DCL bus transfers for at least the one way, PC to MCO. RT not required.

So this is my long-winded reason why I'm willing to put up with fees at Airtran for return flights from DCL trips. :lmao:

Thanks so much for that info...I couldn't find it for the life of me!
~~~ I'm so excited to see JetBlue on that list!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess we'll just rent a car before the cruise and return it at port before the cruise(we're planning to do 1-2 days at the parks before the cruise) and then use Duisney transfers to the airport when we disembark. Does that sound ok???
Sounds great! With 3 little ones, you'll be glad you did. You will love the double dip. That's what our last one was.
Have a great cruise!! glad I could help. :goodvibes
Did you check out the cruise boards? :idea: Lots of info there too.
Yes, I have and I can't wait for our cruise! That being said they just cut back dh's hours starting this week. I hope the economy gets better or we may be forced to take a shorter, less expensive cruise. I'm crossing my fingers that he'll be back on his regular schedule by March!;)
