Philly to WDW, bypassing DC

I've made the drive from Philly at least 20 times, but am looking to bypass DC next month. I have to leave a Philly around 3:30 & don't want to sit in DC rush hour traffic. I usually head straight down 95. Any advice/alternate routes? Thanks in advance.

I am assuming you are traveling on a weekday.

The first problem is that DC is only part of the issue, you have Baltimore and to a lesser extent Wilmington to sit in traffic if you leave at that time.

76 to 81 to 64 to 95 is much longer and has its own traffic problems.

301 is also a mess the times you would be traveling it.

95 to de1 to 113 to 13 across the bridge tunnel and onto 64 then 264 to 664 to 58 to 95 is the only route where you might not have to sit in traffic for a significant amount of time. It adds about 1 hour over a reasonably clear 95 trip.

We just did this drive Dec 27th and I went 301 after checking the traffic reports on line and saw very heavy traffic all through out northern Va. We got back on 95 at exit 104 the exit just above Kings Dominion and will probably do the same thing for the return trip.
103.5 gives traffic reports on the 8's and we did hear there was a bad accident on the southbound side after the WW bridge with 4 left lanes blocked so we made a good choice.

We are leaving Delaware County PA around 2pm on Friday 1.24.15 We check in to PO on Saturday. 3 kids in the car. 1st time doing this drive.

Id very much appreciate some good advice on the best route, a reasonable stopping point (NC? SC?) and quick stops along the way. Also leaving for home around the same time from WDW the following Friday.
