Philly Distance Run

I'm still hoping to do this race! My Achilles is much better, but I'm not sure if a half marathon in two weeks is a very good idea. I'm going to go out for a 3-4 miler tomorrow and I'm keeping an eye on things.

If I don't run I will probably volunteer, and would love to be included in any WiSH events that get put together. This is a great race and I would love to be part of no matter what.

I got my corral placement the other day. I'm in #18. It's gonna be a fun day!

After the RnR last week I no longer need to finish under 90 in this one to hit that goal. I have no real goal other than to stay injury free but if I am still on pace to do sub 90 at about mile 9 I will probably push.

I am in coral 1 so if I do slow up a little I will be passed like a broken down car. :lmao:

I am in corral 17. Need to try my best to stay at a conservative pace so that I can get a 20 miler in the week after. Tried for it today but I think I left too much on the VB course to get it done.

My corral number is 3 and RACE NUMBER is: 3594.

I think Howard posted this earlier but I'm thinking that WISHers could meet up near the Rocky statue before the race. I'll probably sit on the Art Museum steps right by the statue when I get there. I usually try to park on the street before the race so I will be there real early.

We will be eating at the Spaghetti Warehouse right by the convention center on Saturday around 6:30 or 7:00pm. We are making the reservation either tomorrow or Wednesday so if anyone wants to join us let me know how many and I will add it to our reservation.

Frank - I have eaten at the Spagetti Warehouse numerous times over the last 15 years and I feel I need to give you a heads up. The last few times I ate there the experiences have been horrible. In fact, the last time I ate there there was a plastic bag at the bottom of my salad. I can honestly say I will never eat there again and felt the need to forewarn you if you are not from the area.

Kira how is your Achilles doing? Did you decide if you'll be doing the race or not? Hope it's doing better!

yikes:scared1:

I last ate at that Spaghetti Warehouse 2 years ago. We had a pretty good meal.

I'm in Corral 16. Only a few more days:cool1:

Are we getting psyched or what! :rolleyes1

Best of luck with the taper/training to come before Sunday!

It looks like we are meeting prior to the race at the lower right stair area of the Art Museum near the Rocky statue. We hope to see you there!

Howard

I will see if I can drag my group, which contains several WISHers over to the stairs for a quick hello.

Kira- Did you decide to do this one with the Achilles issues and all?

Lou-
Thanks for the heads up. We used to have a Spaghetti Warehouse here and while there was the occasional bad meal most were pretty good, as good as Americanized Italian can be at least.

I will attempt to get over to the stairs to meet everyone who I didn't in Nashville. Hopefully you guys will have WISH stuff on. I will have my RnR VA Beach shirt on until closer to the start.

I don't own any WISH stuff yet. :confused3 I do have orders in for some hats and a shirt, so hopefully that won't be the case for long.

My group will be wearing lots of red for our running team, so hopefully we will stand out some.

I think I'm going to wear my Princess half top.

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been AWOL lately.

Sadly, I made the decision not to run this race this year. My achilles is much, much better, and I have started to train again, but I think I would be tempting fate to do 13.1 miles right now. I am focused on staying healthy so I can earn my Mickey medal in January, and I think running a half this weekend is not a good idea.

I am thinking about coming down to cheer all you WiSHers on (although I may wander down a bit later than the 7am start)!! Once I figure it out I'll let you know.

HAVE A GREAT RACE EVERYONE!!!!

Hi, everyone!

Noah and I will be at the Philly Distance Run. We're staying at the Marriott on Saturday night. Look for you all by the Rocky statue--we'll be wearing WISH green!

Duckie

Sending best WISHes for all of you to have FANTASTIC runs/walks!!! :yay:

:goodvibes Anne

I should be sleeping by now! What am I doing? :confused3

Have a great race everyone! See you tomorrow!!
