This was our Magic Kingdom day. Had breakfast at food court. Daughter and I had omelets, $12.40. We got to MK for EE, and boy was it crowded already! We immediately headed for Space Mountain and got right on. It was fun, but nothing like Rock-n-Roller Coaster! Next we did Alien Encounter. I had my 13 yr. old daughter holding my hand! But we liked it. Those effects are awesome! Now, I don't quite get the enthusiasm for Buzz Lightyear. I mean, sure for the little guys, but I don't know what the big guys see in it. I couldn't even see the little red light that you're supposed to see to shoot the target! Oh, well! By the time we finished with the EE stuff, we ended up going to lunch at 10:30. Early, yeah, but we were hungry, and wanted to avoid the crowds. We ate at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. Pretty good food. Three cheeseburgers and a stacked sandwich, an order of fries, (the burgers came with fries) and 4 drinks for $31.49.
We then went to Splash Mountain and got pretty wet! Next did Big Thunder Mountain (we loved this). Haunted Mansion was cute. Very nice and cool inside. Pirates of the Carribean, also fun. Jungle Cruise was ok, but we had a very boring guide. Acted like he'd rather be somewhere else. It was also very hot. Carousel of Progress- the first time we tried to go, it was temporarily down, so we went on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. My kids really liked this and wanted to do it again. It was really starting to threaten rain, and when we got off we checked to see if Carousel was up and running again. It was, and just in time. It started to pour! My whole family dozed off on this one. And to top it off, it temporarily got stuck and we saw the same part over and over again, til it finally started moving! The sun finally came back out, and we ended up at Tom Sawyer Island for some ice cream. 3 ice creams and a sprite-$9.70. I was so hot! We wandered around the island for a while, then went back and did Snow White, It's a Small World ( it was fun trying to name all the countries), climbed the Treehouse, and for another rest, rode the train.
We had dinner at the Plaza restuarant. Our waitress pretty unfriendly. My husband didn't want to tip her, but I made him! We had a Cheese Steak sandwich, Tuna sandwich, Rueben sandwich w/potato salad and Turkey sandwich with fries, 2 sprites and 2 teas for $47.17.
We messed around til it started to pour again and we sat and watched it under the train station for awhile, then left. Talk about another long wait for a bus!
