Philhamagic Rain Shelter

I'm torn on this. We didn't do it last trip, because it just didn't seem worth the risk to have to wait inside so long and then the water sprayers. However, they need as many attractions open as possible. Even if we aren't interested in doing it, others would be.

We got in line to see the show. But cm said it was currently a rain shelter. Didn’t want to just stand there so We’re at IASW instead.

This is going to be a nightmare at Thanksgiving. They really need to have as much open as possible, especially with People Mover, Riverboat, and Tom Sawyer closed.

I have opinions about this. Here they are for everyone's enjoyment: :rotfl:

  • Just go to WDW prepared for a downpour at any time.
  • Go prepared to stand outside in the rain while in line for any ride.
  • Bring an umbrella.
  • AND a poncho.
  • AND proper footwear.
  • Then when it rains, and the inevitable happens (i.e., everyone disappears like they're going to melt Wizard of Oz style)...and everybody gets out of line, your wait just shortened.
  • You know what else? At Disneyland, most of the queues are not indoors. When it rains, the outdoor attractions all shut down. But for the indoor attractions that are still running...if you're in the queue part that's outside, you either suck it up or you scamper away like the rest of southern Californians (who also melt when it rains). Some of our best times at Disneyland have been in the rain.
  • And when the park clears out in the rain, you now have a glorious opportunity to enjoy a quieter park for a little while.
  • I really like Philharmagic. I wanted to show it to DH when we go in January. What the heck Disney...just keep it open as a regular attraction like everything else.
  • they better not do this to the Country Bear Jamboree or else I'm gonna have a major hissy fit.

Totally agree. We just poncho up and keep going.

Oh yeah. Wait times dropped drastically! 20 minutes for Space Mountain, 15 for small world and Buzz. It was great!

We were at MK on Halloween and we actually rode Space Mountain 3 times in less than one hour!! And this was around 12:30pm! Posted time said 65 minutes and we thought ok, gonna bite the bullet. We were on the ride 17 minutes later! So don’t let posted time sway you as it may be wrong. My daughter wanted to do it again and 2nd time was less, about 12 minute wait. By the 3rd time, they had reduced the sign to 30 minutes, but it was 20. Longest we waited was 50 min for Splash Mountain and 45 for Haunted Mansion.

Like, permanently? Or just because of the weather?

Just because of the weather, and it was intermittent. When enough people left the exit area and store they said they’d start the attraction back up.

I had rain gear and ended up soaked because it was blowing and pouring when we got off Space Mountain. But it was hot enough outside it felt really good. Got to Main Street and it wasn’t raining at all.
