Colleen, Jodi, et al - The Princess 1/2 may just work out for me as a solo trip:thumbsup2 . We're going to Disneyland in May so I can't take the family to WDW in March but I am sure I can use this 40th birthday thing for all it's worth. Especially since I won't be going to WDW in January:rolleyes1 to hang out with y'all.

Cindy - Thanks for posting and YEAH:banana: for you. I agree with Jodi on both the fact that you're running gains are super impressive as of late and that your DSis really shouldn't have laid that yuck on you. Like you said, it's not like you forced her to do it. Unfortunately, a lot of people just don't get how some people actually LOVE:love: to run:confused3 .

Jodi - No speedwork necessary because it is too humbling for me to be the penguin runner on this board by such a gross margin:rotfl: . Just keep up the "I'm so done running" attitude;) . Glad the toes are looking better.

Michael - Performance anxiety:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: I'm not even going there...I did love the pics so thanks for posting.

Colleen - How was the yogapopcorn:: ? When are you out of school for the summer?

Dave - You've booked the tickets for MCO for you and the family, right?! How can you pass that chance up?! DING!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you:wizard: .

Chester - We're patiently waiting for a race report:surfweb: . I hope both you and Tracy had wonderful race experiences. I did see you guys in the WISH meet pics.

Lou - Enjoy the well-deserved recovery runs:thumbsup2 .

I went to a spinning class this morning at the Y and it ended up being just the instructor and I. It was a great workout and hopefully they won't cancel the class due to minimum class size requirements. Going to the doctor's today for MRI results so I'll be checking in later. I am hoping to run tonight depending on the diagnosis. I am SO over being injured:headache: .

Here is a brief synopsis of the races. Hopefully, Tracy will log on and embellish:

Minnie 5k
I lined up with Tracy in the 15:00/walker pace corral for the start and decide that I would stay with her until the sweepers took her away. She was hampered by foot numbness and was already struggling by the 1/2 mile point, so I knocked her down and used her for traction to start running on my own. While I was running along by myself, I was wondering "how in the world can they sweep people as they run through EPCOT?". So, just past the first water stop I pulled aside and waited for Tracy to catch up. We walked the rest of the way together and Tracy finished her first race and collected her first finishers medal. Seeing how excited she was brought a tear to my eye. I am very proud of her.

Minnie 15k
We decided that for the 15k, we would each run the race on our own. Tracy headed for the 15:00/walker corral and I headed for the 9:00-11:00 corral. I took it easy for the first 6 miles, then increased the pace at each mile marker until the finish. I finished in 1:35 and headed over to cheer on the remaining W.I.S.H.ers.

Tracy ended up finding a W.I.S.H.er named Melissa and the two of them kept each other company. When they rounded the final corner before the finish I let out a big whistle to let Tracy know I was there. Tracy and Melissa finished together and once again, Tracy was able to collect her finishers medal. I hope this gives her the confidence she needs to get back into training mode and prepare for the DL Half.

Sara - :wizard: for some good news at the doctor's today!

Dave - You should definitely go to the P & P party. If nothing else, its a cheaper way to get to spend some time in a Disney park than by buying a one day ticket.

Oh, crap! I think I am going to have to think about re-newing my annual pass now. Just think, Jodi, Cindy, Sara, Kathy, Kathy's sister , a round of tiara's and a round of Optimators (the beer)! Ah goodness!:dance3:

I just purchased an annual pass on Friday - it'll still be good in March :rolleyes1

Mike - :rotfl2:

Cindy - Way to go on the races. Nice times on both the 5K and 15K. Looks like you'll be running a sub-4 marathon at Philly.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Thanks for the laugh, but I seriously don't think that is very likely. I'm going to go for a sub 4:30 in San Diego in 4 weeks and I'm not even sure I'm going to be able to pull that one off.

Jodi - Glad your toes are feeling better. Btw - I'm 95% sure that Matt and I are going to do the Everest Challenge.

Dave - You've booked the tickets for MCO for you and the family, right?! How can you pass that chance up?! DING!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you:wizard: .
DW doesn't want to go to Orlando. Can you believe it? She says it will be too much money for not enough fun. Especially if I'm in meetings all day. I'm hoping she's still interested in going to Disney in July then. Soooo, if I'm going in two weeks and in July too - I'm now wondering if I should get an AP. What do you all think?

Sorry to be all about me but I can't help it right now:sad1: .

If I preface this by saying I bawled in the doctor's office can you guess where this is goingpopcorn:: Yup, my surgery is scheduled for 5/19:eek: .

No real shock to me - how long can one bury one's head in the sand before admitting the obvious:confused3 (in relation to a running injury).

Lateral meniscus tear with irritation to a tendon on the outside of my leg which has caused a fluid buildup. It hurts to even type that:sad2: .

Once I'm somewhat sane I will be back to post more. I've just gotta choke down this huge pill first that I've been putting off for 7+ months. WAAAHHHHH!

Sara- I just wanted to WISH you the best for your surgery. I really think this will be the best thing though. You've been trying to deal with this injury for a long time, and it hasn't been getting better. Hopefully you'll have the surgery, recovery, and be able to run again for a long time.

Dave - Agreed. I'm more upset that I knew something was wrong and I let my doctor give me the runaround for so long:mad: . I should have been more assertive since I've said from the beginning I can't rehab until I have a proper diagnosis and I need to rule out surgical intervention being necessary. Lo and behold, surgery is exactly what I need. I will happily ( ) not run for 2-3 months if I can be pain free and train healthy for Philly. We have an inground pool and summer's almost here so it's all good:thumbsup2 . What's up with your wife not wanting to go to WDW:confused3 ? You know all of US are going to say you should get an AP:rotfl: .

Sara - I'm so glad to hear that! I was scared to post something along those lines because I didn't understand what the surgery would mean for the long term and didn't want you to have to come back and tell me something awful like it meant you would never be able to run again. I'm happy for you that you finally have an answer!

Allright, allright, everyone calm down!! There's a lot goin' on here today.

Sara - Phew, that's some news, my friend  . Well at least we've solved the mystery as to why you're so heinous when you're running!!:rolleyes1 I, like the others feel that it's going to be all good after you're healed. I'm happy that you're looking ahead to recovery & getting some good miles in, I might be wallowing in a little bit more self pity (max this out @ home ;) ). You should be able to go to ANY race for the next year or so :lmao: . That being said...suck it up, woman! I've got some blisters here that haven't fully healed yet, sheesh.

Chester - LOVED the race report!! :cheer2: And I'm SO happy for Tracy!!! Good for her!! Tell her I said so!! It takes a lot to come back & try when you haven't finished a race in the past, I'm very proud of her!! And nice times for you, there, Skippy!!:thumbsup2 Are you guys going to the Yeti?

Dave - NICE PACE!!:thumbsup2 Looks like that time off has done you some good, eh? You are smokin' fast. Isn't there going to be anybody for me to run with in Philly :confused3 :sad1: . Everyone's getting faster except for me:charac2: . Guess Lake Placid 1/2 is out now that the wench is on the bench! Nearly forgot, what is UP w/ your DW?? Tell her to call me so I can straighten things out!!:rolleyes1 . No fun in Disney???? Bite your tongue!! Hey, do the P&P party solo! Yes, buy an annual pass, dude. You'll be headin' down there quite a bit...I may have to get one myself?:confused3

Cindy - REALLY? You guys are going to the Yeti RUN? :cheer2: :yay: That'd be SO cool. DS & I are arriving on Thurs. night, going to MNSSHP on Fri., then the Yeti thing Sat. night then home Sun. I can't WAIT!

Mike - :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: Easy there, cowboy, Colleen would NEVER put so many demands on you...that's Kathy's job :rolleyes1 . And buy the way you look after a few Optimators she's got her work cut out for her!:rotfl2: popcorn::

Lou - Yeah, let's look into that fusing ourselves into a freaky fast ultraHero! :rotfl2: There's gotta be someone on these boards that knows how to do that :3dglasses .

Colleen - How's my favorite pumpkinheaded Canadian today?

I ran 3 pathetic miles in the heat today. When I got home my big toe was leaking....EEEWW.

OK hoochies, no joke, let's all sign up for this stupid Princessprincess: 1/2Marathon in March...I'm in....no talk this time (like I did with Minnie :rolleyes1 ). Who's IN???

Howdeee!

Sara - Just to echo everyone else, at least now you know what the problem is and are taking steps to get back to good again. The recovery will be shorter than the time you've already spent dealing with it.

You and Chick-Pea Steve can compare scars!

Dave
- Great run today! And great news about the trip to Orlando. And you're asking the wrong crowd about AP's. Of course!! And DVC points while you're at it! And don't forget your refillable mug!

Chester - Be sure to tell Tracy "Great job" from me. Nice race on your part as well.:thumbsup2

JodiLou or LouJo or UltraPhilly or RodDough - Oh, forget the hybrid thing. Nice theory but the name stinks.

So I'm guessing this puts the No Way Jose on Virginia Beach?

I've done a little bit of taper running. 6 miles yesterday, 6+ today. Rest day tomorrow.

Sara
I wish the very best for you and hope the forthcoming surgery does the trick. It's got to be a little scary, but also a relief to finally know that there is a solution.

Jodi
Tracy is still floating on cloud 9. Now she needs to get motivated to train for DL. Miranda is going to be my team mate for the EE.

Cindy
So, I guess that I'll be seeing you in September too!. Great!:thumbsup2

Dave
When in July will you be at WDW?

Mike
I'll pass along the kudos to Tracy, although she does skim through this thread occasionally and has probably already read it by now. We had a good time at the W.I.S.H. meet and talking with Kathy and Lori.

Saturday is the WDW Muddy Buddy. Chet and I are teaming together and Miranda and her Boyfriend Roberto will be a team. It looks like the Ark is making another gas guzzling cruise to Orlando. But, hot showers after the race will be worth it.

Hey Jodi,

Really quick because I need to go pick up the kids.

AP rates are out for June, in case you are thinking about crashing our Margarita party!

It's a MARGARITA PARTY????? Well now, why didn't you say so! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Just popping in here to see what is going on.

Sara - Sorry to hear about this. It sounds painful but at least they found the problem. Hope the surgery goes well and you get back on your feet quickly.

Bill

Greetings Everyone: Just wanted to check in with the team, and see how you all were doing. I ran 4 miles on the TM on Tuesday, took a rest day yesterday, and haven't done anything yet today. I have to give a final in my class in less than an hour, and I am waiting to see if anyone comes in for office hours. I made my reservation at the Gaylord Palms for the conference next week. One week from today I'll be at WDW!!! I thought I would check out the EPCoT Flower and Garden festival the day I arrive (before the conference starts), and then hit the Pirate and Princess Party on Friday after the meeting ends at 4:30p. That's all the Disney stuff I'll be able to squeeze in, Saturday will be all day meeting, and Sunday I leave in the evening. It will be nice to have a little time to relax though. Maybe I can treat myself to a nice dinner on Saturday evening too. I decided not to get the AP - because I just don't know if we'll be able to go to WDW in July. I can get a discounted after 2pm ticket for attending the conference. So I got one of those that I'll use for EPCoT, and then I bought the PPP ticket.

Sara- Hope you're doing OK mentally preparing yourself for the surgery.

Hi Bill

Chester- Good to hear from you. I'm not sure if I'll be able to go to WDW in July, but if I can, I'd love to go July 9-20. We'll see what happens. Have fun at the Muddy Buddy. It sounds like a blast.

Mike- I'll try to grab an Optimator when I'm in EPCoT. Your pictures made it look so good.

Hey Jodi- So did you sign up for the Princess 1/2 Marathon yet? I'm curious what that tiara medal looks like. I wonder why they moved it to March instead of May?

Hi Colleen- How are you doing? How was your yoga? So are you going to WDW in June? What's up with this Margarita party?

OK, gotta run... well, not literally. Literally, I need to sit and stare at my computer screen some more. I'm not doing anything close to running.

Chester - Tell Tracy I said congratulations! That's awesome that she got her first medal, followed immediately by another medal! Good luck at the Muddy Buddy - that's one race report I'm looking forward to reading.

I'm going to try to do a race report for the Minnie over the weekend.

I ran 4-8-4 Tues, Wed, and today. Both of the 4s should have been 5s but I've been in slow motion all week and I was trying to get into the office in something resembling on time. Tomorrow is a rest day - I really feel like I need it, probably because I got no sleep over the weekend. 5 on Saturday and then 20 on Sunday and then taper

Hey Bots!

I have nothing to report, but I'll post anyway because no one else is!!

I haven't run for the last 3 days since my toe leaked on Tues. or CT at all:goodvibes . I suppose I'll go on the elliptical today after work & run in the a.m.

Dave - So happy that you'll be going down to the world for a bit!! Perhaps you can do your dining review w/ Kevin while there? Although they may not be up for it. Let me know how the P&P party is, I may want to see that. Glad you've been able to run. I haven't signed up for the 1/2 princess: marathon yet. I've gotta see what everyone's doing w/ the VA Beach thing.

Speaking of VA Beach, did everyone see that they have a R&R Half there over Labor Day Weekend? :rolleyes1 Oh yeh, check out the website marathonmaniacs. I think some of us here on this board have qualified for this in the last few months...MIKE.

Sara - How's your spirits?

Cindy - Awaiting Minnie report chock full o' whiny snippets from your sister popcorn:: .

Chester - Anchors Aweigh!! Have fun @ the Muddy Buddy...I've been so wanting to do this race & am looking forward to a report!!

Hi to the rest of you non-posters!!
