Just popping on here to say !! You guys are training fools!

Do you think it would be acceptable to wear my running clothes in an office environment? My pants are getting too tight and I'm tired of the button imprint on my stomach.

Krista
Krista- Would you be wearing your running clothes with your 4 inch heels?

Krista - Did I SEE you?????:lmao: I was so delerious by that point that I barely remember anything...where the heck were you? I did see Steve when crossing into EPCOT. You are hereby granted permission :wizard: to wear anything you dang well please!!!!!:woohoo:

Hey, anyone read about that new race in Sept.? Expedition Everest Challenge? It's a 5k w/ an obstacle course & scavenger hunt built in...sounds different. I may bring DS to this & forgo the Twilight Zone thing, although it DOES just seem like another way for Disney to get your $. Hey, at least THIS race includes park admission...Lemme know what you guys think

Jodi
I think I'll make the trip over for that one. It sounds like it could be fun.

Hi Krista:wave2: I wanted to say congratulations, since I don't think I have yet, so, Congratulations!

Funny you should mention this, DH and I were just talking about it this morning. We are currently planning a WDW trip for the summer mainly because I want to take a long trip and DH has school, so summer is really the only time. BUT there are so many Disney races that I want to do that it seems silly to go down there when there is no race. I also really want to do food and wine. So this morning I tried to convince DH that he should only take 1 class next fall (and thus graduate a semester later than planed) so that we can go to Disney in Sept. or Oct. for almost a week and he wouldn't have to miss class. I was trying to sell the Everest race since it is earlier in the semester and he is less likely to have ongoing projects, etc. to worry about. Yes, this probably makes me sound crazy, and I think DH still thinks it is a stupid idea, but I will work on him.

As for my current running, I must say, I am proud of myself. I didn't get home from work until almost 11:30 last night but I still got up at 5:45 to jog over to the track to run my scheduled intervals. I ran all of them waaaay too fast. It was dark and I couldn't see my watch while running. I guess I really need to work on that whole sense of pacing thing.

Back to work, its going to be another long night. Lou and Jodi - I'm not worn down quite yet, I just remind myself that the main reason I am so busy right now is because I took that trip to Jamaica and it was worth a few late nights!

Krista- Would you be wearing your running clothes with your 4 inch heels?

Oh, absolutely! :thumbsup2

Jodi--Don't know how you missed me, those Wish shirts can be seen from outer space! I was right past mile 24, in front of the Beach Club. That's okay that you ignored me, I'll get you next time. ;) ;) ;)

Krista
You can ignore Jodi when she's running the Cleveland Marathon, and you're up there cheering for Steve and I. ;)

I also wanted to add that I have been emailing back and forth with DH all day about whether we should do the Goofy next year or not. Until this morning, we had both decided that it didn't make sense based on time of year, the fact that we would have already just gone to Disney, etc., etc. But now I actually think we might be leaning towards doing it.

um, I just did it. I registered for the Goofy. This is crazy. Before this morning I had absolutely no intention of running the next WDW marathon weekend.

That's why Disney is a multi-billion dollar company. I know the feeling. I come back from WDW, fresh off of finishing the marathon, and I get this email telling me about a Disneyland 1/2 Marathon in August. If I run I get the DL medal plus a "special" medal for running WDW and DL. DW says lets do it and make it a birthday trip for you. Sounds good to me. I had no intention of going to DL this year but we booked a trip that day.

On top of that, DW decides to try to run the DL 5K along with my son. On top of that, my SiL and BiL decide they are going to try to run the DL 1/2 too.

Pretty good marketing.

Hey Everyone: I know some of you are planning on going to the Minnie Marathon this year. Well, I found a sweepstakes you might be interested in. Good luck! It'd be great if a WISHer won! :thumbsup2

Hello MCMPhillies,

Good job getting out there!

Nothing to report at my end. Busy hair-net wearing table washer can't get a chance to workout. Hubby out of town this week, so after a day of work yesterday, guitar lessons, boy scouts, homework, violin and guitar practice, I was beat! Busy schedule today too, DS10 is trying out for his school's Battle of the Books team, the kids had swim team practice, homework, violin/guitar, and we did manage to eat dinner in there as well....I am wiped!

Jodi, I will get you those pics!

Sara, where are you girl!

Krista, I like you little baby watch in you siggie!

Mike, Steve, Dave, What is all this talk about Cleveland Marathon and the EE 5K run??

Cindy, you crazy Goofy girl! Better you than me!

Do we have something planned for the spring?

So who is doing Minnie?

Cindy: Wow! Home late and cranking out intervals in the morning darkness? You are motivated! :woohoo: (and apparently Goofy too, since you registered for next January! ;) )

Yikes! :scared: Quite a schedule. Chalk it up as Cross Training!! :thumbsup2

Cynthia
Way to go Goofy. I had a blast going Goofy with DS this year. Looks like we'll be crossing paths for Minnie, Philly and Goofy.

Colleen
I think quite a few of us will be doing the Minnie. Tracy and I will be there. And I think Kathy, Sara, Jodi and Cynthia are planning on it.

Lou
I think Tracy and I are going to head to Cali for the DL Half this year. Tracy is planning on using it as a stepping stone to teh WDW Full in 2009.

I'm taking part of this week off to let a sore hip heal. Last Sunday's 12 miles was cut short at 7 because of pain. Planning to go 6 on Saturday and 9 on Sunday.

Chester- Are you still doing the Muddy Buddy this year? Bob, from the DIS Unplugged Podcast team is looking for someone running the race. He's planning on covering it, and wants to know someone running.

Colleen - I've been stewing for this one for over 24hrs now, trying to work up something good about DH being out of town and the boy scouts (you know, like "Were they working on their Mrs. Robinson merit badge" or something equally inappropriate) but everything ended up sounding kinda creepy. Maybe next time.

Cindy - Congratulations (I guess ;) ) on going Goofy. I hope they process my mail-in DVC discount application before it fills up.

Did you get out to run this morning? The wind was wicked!

Lou - I'm thinking of just booking a room at Disney for all of September and October. 3 races in that span. Heck, I guess I should just give them my bank account info so they can empty it out themselves and spare us the work.

I did my weekly 7 mile tempo run this morning. It was really kind of warm but the wind was something fierce (30 to 40 mile gusts according to the weather report). Wouldn't you know it, just as I start up the longest, steepest hill of the run the wind hits me square in the chest. No gusts, only steady gale force the whole time. I was running for all I was worth and literally barely moving! Let's just say my pace greatly suffered for a mile or two there.

Take care all!

Hello everyone! Sorry for the quick post but work is jamming me up right now.

Chester - Should be a fun race. I'm looking forward to it. That's an expensive stepping stone. At least you live in FL so the trips to WDW don't cost as much.

Mike - Good job getting out and doing the 7 miles in the wind. I know what you mean. The weather here was the same yesterday but I went out too. As for Disney, I think we should talk to our accountants this tax season. Maybe they can find a loop hole where these trips are tax deductible. There has to be some plan that allows your employer to take out the money for these trips before taxes. :lmao:

Got in a 5-mile tempo run yesterday. That was the first time I did a tempo run. Kind of nice but the weather here was just like Mike said...somewhat warm but very windy. I ran in a bike trail in the woods so the wind was not as bad as if I were on the street. I'll try to do something later tonight because this morning is out.

Lou

Dave
DS and I are already signed up to do the Muddy Buddy again this year. This will be our third time. I still have to sign up DD and her BF, since I waited too late to sign them up last year and they missed out. Put Bob in touch with me. I'll help out.

Lou
Yea, the temptation of another "special" medal lured us in.

Hello!

Kind of quiet here today. Is There Anybody Out There? - Pink Floyd

I went into the city for meetings this morning and brought along my running gear with the intention of going for a run around the Art Museum in the afternoon. Well, I park the mini-van and start getting changed in the back when I realize...I have no sneakers. I was pretty bummed because the weather is nice here today. I could have just bailed out there but I decided to go home and run 4 miles along the bike path by my house. It was better than nothing. That's all th excitement for me today.

Hopefully I'll win a few contracts in the next month to pay for this running addiction.
