Lou - We're NOT meeting at the "W" tent pre-race. Colleen posted about the meeting spot somewhere here...If I get a chance I will let you know the post # this week.

Sara - I missed the pre-race post. Just tell me where you guys plan to hang out before the race and I'll make my way over there.

Lou

I just got on the Philly marathon website for the first time. Gotta be careful how I bring that one up--I don't want to anger the pregnant lady. :rolleyes1

I did talk to Krista last night about Philly. She said she thought it might be fun to head there for that weekend.

Actually, what I said was, you can run Philly IF we can go to WDW in October!!!! pirate: pirate: pirate:
Krista

Steve: Start sketching out those ADRs for next October.

Steve and Jodi, we are meeting just inside the portapotty holding area. Last year we met just to the left as you enter. After we complain for an hour or so...:chat: we can walk the .75 mile to the corrals together.
LOU - Here's the official WISH meeting location. You won't miss us!

I will post tomorrow if I am able...

Mike--how quickly you forget--I already have a Road runner medal! Maybe it's the free shoes they gave out that are making me so speedy!;)

Yeah, I've been watching the weather forecast like a hawk--and boy, it changes daily--and Accucheck and Weather.com are different. As long as it's not lightening I'll be good--I've done a half in the 40s and rain, so like Lou said, 70s and rain would be a cake-walk. I, too, am more worried about my Epcot night and MK day being rained out! Gotta have my priorities straight...speaking of priorities

Krista--I, too, am trying to swing an Oct. WDW trip:rolleyes1

Sara - Thanks. That seems like an easy place to find people. I'll look for the porta potty area and the yellow shirts.

Lou

Too many posts for me to keep up with. DS left for school today and DD starts back tomorrow. Maybe now I will be able to log some keyboard time at home, instead of staying late at work like tonight.

Last weekends runs of 4 and 8 are completed and all systems are a go. I have 3 miles Tuesday night and 4 miles on Wednesday. Friday am will be the Family 5k and then the Goofy.

I'll be hanging out at the "W" tent prior to entering the port-o-let/staging area. Once in port-o-letville, I'll look for you guys to the left.

It looks like I may have to pack some dry socks because "tut-tut, it looks like rain".

Looking forward to catching up with the WDW'ers Friday at the W.I.S.H. meet.

Hey Everyone: I'm sitting at the airport now waiting to fly back to Rochester. I just wanted to check in and say hi! I'm glad to be heading home. I haven't done any running since running Haines Point on Saturday. I'm trying to rest my hip. OK, I just heard my gate was changed. Gotta run...

Stephanie & Krista - I definitely wanna head down to theWorld in Oct. & run Twilight Zone & check out a MNSSHP (or whatever that acronym is:confused: ).

Lou - I suppose you're right, rain's no big deal. It rained/drizzled in the 2nd half of a marathon I did in May and it wasn't so bad. It's just those downpours when your feet get soaked & decide to create hotspots that kill me...at least it won't be cold.

Chesterbuddy - Hey Stranger!! I may carry some dry socks myself.

Anyone tried the old feet-in-plastic-bags thing I was reading about in Runner's World??? Sounds like a good idea in theory, but wouldn't your feet slide around inside the shoe & create more chance for blisters???

Just another thing to "fret" over, as it were:scared1: ! "Oh bother!"

Hi guys:yay:

Obsessively checking the forecast here too:eek: . I don't mind a little rain as well and I'll take rain anyday over bright sunshine.

Chester - So glad to see you back and really looking froward to seeing you, Tracy and Chet in a few days:thumbsup2 .

Dave - I hope your travels home were uneventful and you're enjoying the warmer weather in NY today:cloud9: .

Jodi - Only two more days to fret over the details;) Start doing the rain, rain go away dance when you get to FL and I am sure it'll all work out okay:laughing:

Howard - I am marking my calendar now for Philly registration:cheer2:.

Bill Thanks for taking the time to post on this thread to let us know you are unable to attend WDW. I wish you all the best for overcoming your current physical issues and I do hope to see you at a future race:grouphug: .

Rest day for me today. Well, except for the time I spend running away from the auditors at the office:rotfl: .

Good Morning Everyone: :surfweb:

I'm back at home. Flight was uneventful except they lost my bag. How do you lose a bag on a 1 hour direct flight? :confused3 The only way they can do it is if they put my bag on the wrong plane. Oh well, I'm not even surprised anymore. My bag didn't show up and I said "whatever" here's my phone number call me when you get it.

Dave--that happened to us on a direct flight from Milwaukee to Tampa. Our bag went to Phoenix!:confused3 Here was me at baggage claim:sad2:

Host: The answer is: underneath your right kneecap and the arch of your left foot.

Contestant : What is: where are my phantom taper pains located today?

Host: Excellent answer; tell him what he's won, Gene.

Good morning all :thumbsup2

42 degrees here at 5:30 am; it was 8 for a high just four days ago. :confused3

30 minute easy cruise on tap today; then I should really think about making a packing list. :scared:

Have a great day!

My favorite lost bag story was last year when I could see my bag sitting on the luggage cart outside the plane as we were getting ready to take off. I said something to the flight attendant and he told me that we were running late so that they were just not going to load anymore bags and my bag would get on a later flight :confused3 Would have been ok, I guess, except they then couldn't find it after it got on that later flight. I got it about 24 hours later so I guess I shouldn't complain.

I had a really great run this morning (went to the track to do some intervals) and I thought of all of you running this weekend. I WISH you all great races and hope that at some point during the race when you feel miserable, you can remember some previous run that felt great and remember why it is that we all do this.

The weather looks like it's a moving target anymore. Today weather.com says...Sun Jan 13 72°/54° Scattered T-Storms 40%. I think it's almost worthless for me to check again until Friday when I start packing.

Some of the best runs I had all summer were in the rain. That said, I never ran 26 miles in rain. However, I did run 10 in the snow in December and I loved it.

I'm pretty fired up about the race and I have the attitude that I could care less about the rain or the temps. I'll take whatever mother nature can dish out...short of a hurricane.

Me too:banana: As I've said before, the race is rather insignificant in the grand scheme of things:confused3 . I'll do 26.2 in the rain for a good time with family:grouphug: .

I ran an entire 1/2 marathon in a light drizzle, 50 degrees, it was awesome, my fastest 1/2 marathon time, but I was running it and out there only 2 hours! I don't know what walking in the rain for 6 hours will be like.:confused3

Funny thing, my shoes were wetter at the end of last year's Disney marathon with the high temps and humidity than they were during that 1/2 rainy marathon!:rolleyes1

Hi Guys!

Cindy - :love1: :love1: :love1: :love1: :love1: :love1: :love1: :love1: :love1: :love1: Still freak you out?

Sara - Are the bean counters fast runners? Did they catch you today?

Jodi - Hello my good friend. Is there anything I can do to be supportive?

Dave - Glad you made it home safe and sound. Hope your bag follows suit.

Colleen - Was one of your shoes wetter than the other. Oh, I forgot. That's my good friend whom I am very supportive of.

PatsyBill - Thanks for checking in. Sorry you won't be making this trip. Stick with it though! Nordic combine - Biathalon. No wonder I got so much grief the last time I went skeet shooting on the slopes! I was supposed to be shooting while ski jumping. Dooh!

SilverSteve - I got a couple of phantoms myself today.

Lou - Ignore the weather. They're just guessing.

Here's a Florida weather question for everyone. Here in VA, if they say there is a 70% chance of rain, they mean pretty much a rainy day. In FL, do they mean there's a 70% chance of getting one of those afternoon storms that happen every day or an all day sort of rain? I can never figure this out.

The bean counters are running away from me today:woohoo: . I am talking in such circles that I have their heads spinning. They told me we'd have to reconvene at a later time:rotfl2: .
