Colleen - Congrats to Jeff from us. Too bad about the GI problems. Is he happy with his result, all things considered?

Well, he knew he was not going to run a 3:45 today and he could have easily turned the marathon into a 4:30, so he said he is 'satisfied'. I am very happy for him. Glad I experienced it too.

Also, I just saw the California Angels in the lobby of our hotel. They were all dressed in black. They must be playing the Sox tomorrow.

Colleen - Congrats to Jeff. Sorry that Jodi sent her issues to him.

Mike - Thanks for the link and congrats to you! Either Matt can't count or you passed a lot of people towards the end of the race. I'm guessing its the later (or a combination of both) Way to go:thumbsup2

Steve - I hope your weather stays nice enough to enjoy the basketball, I think it FINALLY stopped raining here an hour or so ago.

Hi to everyone else.

Ran three little miles this morning. Feeling fine. Got 8 on tap for tomorrow.

Colleen - WOW, you're home already...sounds like JodiStops aren't the only thing your DH has in common with me...I don't recall the marathon ending @ the airport? :rotfl2: I'm so happy that he got to run Boston & hope he's happy  . Remind him that lots of people never even qualify for that dang race!! Tell him Congrats!:thumbsup2

Mike - Are you gonna try to qualify for Boston? My stepdaughter threw rocks, too, but I just dodged them. I'll show you my medal if you show me yours:flower3: ....:rotfl2: Bruce will become violent if he has to sing Disney tunes, sorry...

Cindy - Thanks. The race was wicked cool!! Have you signed up for NYC 1/2 yet???:rolleyes1

Sara - The answer is yes, I would think you were a loser if you were crying @ work, but go ahead & tell me anyway:laughing:  Come on, now...you know you guys mean a lot to me :goodvibes . My real friends can't stand me, so ya'll are all I've got.

OK, someone tell me how to post my documentary on these pages...guaranteed it'll make you laugh!

JODI - Jodi! Jodi! Jodi! I give you credit for even considering an ultra but finishing...that's a lot of heart. Way to go! I feel like a girlie man running only a 20K.

Colleen - Congrats to Jeff! It must have been an awesome experience. I got home today and watched some of the Boston Marathon on TV. All I saw was Lance Armstrong for 10 minutes.

Steve - Thanks for the b-day wishes. I missed your post this weekend.

Lou

Colleen - WOW, you're home already!

Ah, no, we are still in Boston, we fly home tomorrow morning.

We walked over to the finish area tonight and watched them take down the scaffolding and baracades. There was a guy 'running' across the finish line, it was about 7:00 p.m. He wasn't wearing a race number but there were two people, who looked liked his parents waiting for him at the finish line with a blanket.:confused3 The guy was around 40 and looked like he still lived at home (if you know what I mean.) I really felt sorry for him and the parents.

Jodi, sorry I forgot to congratulate you and your performance!:thumbsup2 :worship:  That is so awesome. I am very proud I was in your thoughts.

[Mike - Are you gonna try to qualify for Boston? ...

I'll show you my medal if you show me yours:flower3: ....:rotfl2:

Bruce will become violent if he has to sing Disney tunes, sorry...
GONNA try:confused3 ? What, you don't think I've been trying???

I just recently figured out how to post and e-mail pictures that were already on my computer. Now you want me to figure out how to get a picture out of the camera? Never satisfied, are you?

It might be fun watching Bruce beat the stuffin' out of some poor fool while singing "Under the Sea" or "Be My Guest".

Speaking of some poor fool: Hey Cindy (no, you're not the fool of which I was speaking), did you happen to notice the guy standing in the middle of nowhere calling out times Sunday? I mean, thanks for the gesture and all, but is it really supposed to help me figure my pace when he calls out 16:45, 16:46, 16:47 at mile 2.352:confused3 :rotfl: ?

Colleen - I forgot to ask, did you see Lance?

Alright Dave - Where the heck are you?!? Less than a month to Cleveland! I'm thinking maybe you ran off to join the circus. Maybe you've traded in your running tights for trapeze tights?

:rotfl: I had forgotten about that, but yes I do remember him. I think he was at 1.2 or .3 miles. I don't think there was a mile marker for the first mile, maybe he was just confused about where to stand?:confused3

That reminds me of another amusing story from a race. At the 10k (that I hated) that I ran in Fairfax in December, at around mile 1.8 there was a teenage girl to the side of the road holding a big sign with a "2" on it. Instead of holding it up, she was holding it off to the side in that I'm an annoyed teenage girl stance (I think you all can kind of picture what I mean). She was talking (yelling) on her cell phone. As I ran past I heard her say "no" a few times and then yell, "well I can't find it!":rotfl: .2 miles ahead, there was a HUGE chalk drawn "2" in the middle of the road.

Jodi - I'm no help with the technology. I do hope you figure our how to post it. If you think its funny, I'm sure I'll be:laughing:

Ran 8 this morning. My left calf is kind of tight and I have a few places on my feet where I lost some skin on Sunday due to water logged feet that were kind of bothering me. Otherwise, a pretty good run (and it wasn't raining!)

Mike - How are your conversations with your shoes going? Mine are still wet from Sunday! Good thing I have 5 pairs of running shoes that I am still rotating (its time to say goodbye to some of them soon).

Colleen - Ohhhhh, I thought you were home already :rotfl2: ...not that that would be weird or anything :rolleyes1 . I mean it was several hours after the marathon.

Cathy - 8 miles today? Wow, I won't tell you again to go easy :sad2: , you've got a marathon coming up!! Self-massage that calf :rolleyes1 . And pull out the inside sole of your sneaker & stuff newspaper in it...it'll dry soon enough! I still wouldn't have run in the rain  .

Lou - So when's your next run old man?;) No doubt you're doing a race this weekend...somewhere :lmao: .

Mike - Come ON! You've gotta help me post this video...maybe Kathy knows how? :confused3 Jeez, you made it through pharmacy schoolin' & you can't post a video on line??? So exactly how fast do you have to run to qualify for Boston? I know we've gone over this b4, but....

So i popped my blisters last night :thumbsup2 ...and again today..:confused3 . There's a lotta blister juice spillin' on my Crocs as of late  . I left the blood blister alone though :scared: . My thighs are still sore, but my shoulders have stopped aching...guess I lose my Chi & hunch over when I run too much :confused3 . No results posted yet for my race on Active:confused: . The race director did say he was leaving for a 3 week business trip on Mon. & he'd get them up as soon as possible!!popcorn:: I'm thinking my official time will be 5:45 or so...

Who's Cathy?:confused3

Who's Cathy?:confused3

:lmao: :rotfl2: ALLLLLLLRIGHTY, THEN!! I'm such a DEE-BAG!! Yes, yes, I mean CINDY. :flower3: Sorry. Maybe if I met you (like @ the NYC 1/2 :rolleyes1 ) I'd have a face to go with the name :confused3 Suffering from a serious electrolyte imbalance from the other day still????

Mike - Come ON! You've gotta help me post this video...maybe Kathy knows how? :confused3 Jeez, you made it through pharmacy schoolin' & you can't post a video on line???
Sorry, but I think you have to have a tape of boppin' some Hollywood Starlet type to need to know how to post a video on line. As studly as we pharmacy types often are (FYI, they did not offer a class on sweep-over hairdos in pharmacy school) I was lucky enough to trick Kathy into marrying me before the starlet came along.

I guess I'm just happy you remember my name at this point.

Good morning McPHilly's,

Random thoughts:

Arrived home yesterday. Remind me never to book layover flights again. Pay the extra and fly direct.:scared:

Always know how much cab fare is between the airport and your hotel before you arrive. one guy wanted to charge $15 per person to take a shuttle. I knew the cost would be between $20-$25 for a cab. There were 4 of us, so the when I walked away the guy yelled back, what about $12 each.:sad2: We just walked to the cab stand and paid the $21 + tip.

We only got to see Jeff once on the marathon route. We took the subway out to mile 17. It was packed, had to wait for numerous trains(both there and back), people were vicious and didn't care that I had an 8 and 10 year old with me. I actually had to physically block the subway door in front of a group of four aggressive women that tried to get on the train in front of my kids. :sad2: There was a subway worker monitoring the door and he even yelled at the group of women to step back.

My daughter forgot her hat in a pew at Trinity Church, we went back 30 minutes later and it was gone.:sad2:

The finish area was a madhouse that extended about a 6 block radius. Unfortunately our hotel was within 2 blocks of the finish line, so it was hectic trying to get back. In fact, after we saw Jeff at mile 16, we jumped on the subway, went right back to the hotel and within 10 minutes of our arrival at the hotel Jeff arrived!! He had ran the last 10 miles, walked through the chip removal, food lines, baggage claim and back to hotel in the same time.:sad2:

Am I glad I went, yes! Would I go again, no not for the marathon, but I would go and sight-see.

Good Morning!

Jodi: Congrats on the Ultra! :worship: Loved the race report; had a great image of you running endless laps, each time passing a blanket with numerous Disney stuffed animals on display.

Colleen: Congrats to Jeff for his marathon finish!:thumbsup2 Sounds as if you guys had a great trip to Boston. That is, apart from overpriced cabs, rude T-riders, and massive crowds--ahhh, Boston; I miss living there. (When I moved back to Maine from Boston, no one in my family would ride in a car with me anymore; they were too scared of the aggressive driving and horn honking)

Hi Everyone. Just a quick post as I have relatives visiting and I'm trying to survive being trapped in the all-too-well-known horror flick "School Vacation Week" :scared: I'll catch up later.

:lmao: Uh, you need serious help! NEVER MIND, I'm sorry I even asked! My son's going to post it for me tonight (if he has enough time  ).

Colleen - Sorry you had a rough time w/ those heinous women on the subway...I think you're just too nice to be caught up in big city crowds :cutie: . I'll come along next time :rolleyes1 . I can not believe how long it took you to get back to your hotel...that's what MCM was like @ the end...just toooo many people, especially if you're trying to get out!! I'm glad you're home safe  . Did the kids enjoy Boston? How's Jeff? Sore? Still basking in the post-marathon-afterglow?

Cindy (not Cathy) - OK, so we both agree this is behind us, right? :rotfl:

Steve -HI!

Greetings Everyone: OK, I've been gone way too long. I'm sorry. I know I've missed a ton including a lot of races.

Jodi- Congrats on your ultra. I'm so proud of you.

Mike and Cindy- WTG on the Half Marathon!

Colleen- I hope you had a great time in Boston. How'd your hubby do?

Steve- Happy 40th birthday, and congrats on the Penn Relays 20k.

Hi Sara

Hi Chester

Again, I apologize for not being around. It's been a crazy busy time for me. Things have been turning around for me with work, but that's probably why I've been getting busier. I'm interviewing for a new job down at this neighboring college (SUNY/Geneseo) today and tomorrow.

I've been trying to run some, but it has been pretty sporadic. I got a 10 miler in on Saturday during a trip to Pittsburgh to see the MiL, but I haven't run since then. I might try to run this evening. My hip's been feeling better, but it's still a little twingy.

OK, I need to get ready for class and for my interview.

Popping in to say:

Hi Anne,

You might have something there.

I know this is TMI, but he did have numerous bathroom episodes the day before the marathon and the problems just continued during the marathon as well. But, yes, he is glad he did it. Thanks for popping in!

Jodi, yes, you need to come with me to the big city. I am starting to panic now that I entered the NYCM draft.:guilty: What if I get in and you dont? $155 is a lot of clams.
