Mike - Dave's b-day IS this month. :bday: Mine is not until after WDW (1/23). So we're both going to be 39 and holding;)

Dave - When I get a moment I will scroll back to find out when your b'day actually is this month:thumbsup2 so I can post appropriately.

Jodi - Please run/walk with me:hug: . I promise to be pleasant:rolleyes1 Sooner than 15 miles in sounds like a good plan.

I am heading out to shop in just a second so I will post again when I'm able.

Hi PMers (former MCMers)....I always :tiptoe: sneak over here to your thread and read up on everyones' training since so many of you guys seem to be training for Goofy AND it's the best way to check on Dave and see how he's doing Hi Dave . So anyway...you all are doing an amazing job getting prepared for WDW. I hope to be able to see you and say "hi"!! Ran my last LR yesterday although I do have a 10 miler on tap for next weekend...so is that really a taper??? LOL? :confused3

Jodi...you totally crack me up!!!!

Anyway...wishing you all the best of luck at WDW and a lovely holiday! :santa:

Happy belated b'day Dave!!!!

Actually - I think I recall from a post a few weeks ago that Dave's birthday is actually today - Happy Birthday!

I did actually run yesterday for 5 miles, so I did manage to run 4 days this week (improvement over the 3 from last week) for aboout 22 miles - not the 25 miles/5 days where I want to be, but closer.

I am off with the family to do some touristy stuff in DC - museums and monuments.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Thanks for the Birthday WISHes everyone. Cindy's right my birthday is today. :cool1: My Dad's here for Christmas, and it's the first time since we moved to Rochester 3 years ago that he's been able to visit. Dad and I went to the gym this morning. I ran 3 miles on the treadmill while he walked on a treadmill for 30 min.

Have a GREAT Holiday everyone!!!

Merry Christmas !

Peace, Joy and well-WISHes to you all!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL MY DISBOARD PEEPS!! AND HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, DAVE

HERE'S TO A HEALTHY, HAPPY, INJURY FREE NEW YEAR, GUYS (WITH LIMITED JODISTOPS FOR ALL!!)

MERRY CHRISTMASto my WISH Family. I hope you and yours are all blessed with the spirit of the holidays:grouphug:

Happy tapering to all this week:cheer2:

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE AND A HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DAVE

Last week was a good one as far as training goes. Even though I skipped Tuesdays run, I still totalled 43 miles for the week. During Thursday's run, I set a new "fastest mile" time during mile 5 of a 5 miler - 7:59  .

We had a good time at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Friday night. Cinderella's Castle is absolutely amazing this year. It's covered with thousands of clear icicle lights that seem to shimmer. Colored floodlights make the entire appearance spectacular.

Saturday morning I ran from Fort Wilderness to the Wilderness Lodge, then along the lake to the back of River Country, then backtracked to Wilderness Lodge and headed back to loop around Fort wilderness a couple of times. 10 miles at 9:59.

Sunday I completed 20 miles in just under 4 hours. No aches, no pains, no injuries. Only one small blister due to sloppy toenail trimming. I think I'm ready for Goofy.

I'm back at work today - anyone else?
Dad and Sis (plus 2 cats) left this morning.
I did manage to get in a 4 mile run yesterday, which makes me happy. My sister is up to 1.5 miles in her training for the Minnie and she says that it is hard, but she is sticking with it, so that's good.

Chester - 43 miles and you were able to set a fastest mile record - I'd certainly agree that you are ready for Goofy. Congrats!

Hello all:

With the holidays I have kind of lost touch with what's happening on the boards. Here's a quick post. I've managed to get 2 5-miles runs in this week...between all the food and beer. Hopefully I burned off half of the calories.

I'm still feeling pretty good post 20-mile run. No aches or pains. Hopefully I'll stay injury free until WDW.

Did anyone get any good running gear for Christmas???

I got a new iPod Nano (8GB) and a Nike wool cap with built-in iPod headphones. I love the new iPod.

Lou

Hi Guys :yay:. I hope it's quiet because we're all rejoicing in the taper and enjoying the non-running aspects of our lives.

Lou - I am so jealous of the new running gear!! Glad you're loving the iPod. I couldn't run without mine. I got new shoes for WDW.

I'm still hanging in there and running a bit:confused3 . I will do 10 miles tomorrow:thumbsup2.

Happy training, tapering, etc.:cheer2: I hope everyone is going to check in after the new year because we're getting psyched for WDWpopcorn:: .

Hello everyone!

Hope your holiday was swell:)

Amybeth68 - HI! We'll have to find you in the line up somewhere!! I think I still need to list my bib# here on these boards, apparently they mean something; like where you'll be starting & what color & stuff! Good luck w/ your 10 this weekend.

Sara - HEY WENCH! Listen, we'll definitely run together & be heinous together!! But if I need to make a "stop", please continue on as I wouldn't want you to witness the soiling of a sacred Disney topiary:rotfl2: ! Jealous you got new shoes! I got my Garmin305, a new UA Bra & new running socks which actually seem to be clearing up my blisters! I think my old socks' "techie-ness" has been washed out!!

Lou - Glad you're still feeling good!! That's a BIG i-pod (in memory only)! SWEET! Stay well, it's only a few more weeks!

Cindy - Glad your visits w/ cats & family went well. AND you snuck in some miles, good for you!! Stop working so much!

Dave - Did you get cool stuff for your b-day & xmas? So cool that your dad was able to visit for the holidays! I'll miss you guys in Disney:sad1: .

Colleen - Did you come back from WDW, or just decide to stay down there:3dglasses (luckyduck).

ChesterLink - What is UP w/ all that running you did @ WDW?? AND you broke a mile record??:thumbsup2 DUDE, you're my hero. Your son better look out!!

Mike - Have the girls thrown their Wii remotes through any windows or tvs yet?popcorn::

Steve - How's that snow? All gone?

So I did that cheesy 11 on Fri., then said I'd do the 2nd half on Sat. NOT, that day I ran 2 miles & went right back home:lmao: . Sun. we were SUPPOSED to go to the Pats game, but a certain guy named BRUCE was too sick (flushot my a**) to go, so I ran 5 miles that day b4 rain. Then Mon., x-mas eve, I went to my mom's house & ran 10 miles in my old town. This was a much needed change of pace, running thru old neighborhoods & out far in the "boonies". Very refreshing to be somewhere else. Xmas day off, 6 miles on Weds., zip yesterday. Today I'll CT for 40 mins. (prolly only 30), then 10 tomorrow. I don't feel as if I've really earned a taper status this time around 'cause I didn't get that 20 miler in, but there you have it. I'll just hope for the best for Goofy:eek: Let's DO this thing, already!!

Happy Holiday Weekend Friday!

And happy taper to all, excpet me and Dave :sad1: (and possibly Mike who I seem to recall is still trying to get another 20 in). I'm glad I have something coming up soon to look forward to - DH and I are leaving on Jan. 16 for a 5 day trip to Jamaica to celebrate our birthdays - I'm getting pretty bummed that I'm not going to be in Disney running with everyone.

I'm looking forward to another long weekend, this one where DH and I get to spend it just the two of us.

Hi guys,

Colleen here, got back from my trip to Florida and DH had cleared all the cookies from our computer, I forgot my password and the email address I signed up my Dis account with in 2001 is not longer active, sooo, I am trying to figure out how I can get my account back.:confused3

Trip was good, but we are really tired, I only got out to officially train one day the entire trip and that was only 4.5 miles. I did get to the gym today and put in 10 miles in 2:07.

I need to read up on the goings on here.

Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday!

Um...Theta - Glad you'r back in one piece & had fun. Uh, what's a Theta???:rotfl2:

I wanted to throw my running shoes on the course for this event. (Kind of like throwing my gloves in the ring?) I have the Philly Marathon on my list for 2008. I also have the Marine Corp Marathon on my list in addition to the Goofy '08.

I am finishing up grad school at the end of May. Despite working full time beginning in early June. I think I should be in a good position to exercise, loose some weight and train (correctly and effectively) for the two races close to each other (PHL & MCM) in the fall. When WDW rolls around for 2009, I will not be Goofying it, I will cut back to only the Marathon.

So, for those running Philly in 2008, I hope to be there with you all the way!

:grouphug:

Howard

Howard - Welcome, Dude!! Hope you hang w/ us on this thread as we co-miserate, ok, as I complain about training, for Philly!! Hope to see you (follow me to the portapottys:dance3: ) in WDW! Oh yeh, & good luck w/ your last bit of GRAD SCHOOL:worship: .
