DH and I are flying out of PHL for a short four-night trip in two weeks. Currently we are booked at the Parking Spot and with a discount we are still paying $92. I know long-term parking at PHL was not open for awhile, but I was just on the website and it no longer says it is closed. It would be cheaper, at $16/day. Can anyone confirm that long-term parking at PHL is open? I haven't flown out of PHL since 2005 as we much prefer BWI, so I don't really understand where long-term parking is in relationship to the airport. Can we walk to the airport from our car or will we still need to take a shuttle?

Thanks for any help!

If Long Term ( aka Economy) as reopened you'd still need to take a Shuttle. I haven't seen anything on Philadelphia media saying it has reopened. And according to https://www.phl.org/parking/garages it is still closed.

Yes, it's the garages right at the terminals and it's $16/day. You can walk to your terminal and do not need a shuttle. The old Economy lot that used the shuttle is closed and apparently not reopening. I'm still planning to use an off-site lot for our upcoming April trip though because I just like knowing I have a spot reserved and don't want to stress out driving around the garage looking for a spot!

FYI - my employer has us book with the Parking Spot for negotiated rates so I've used the ones at PHL and EWR quite often (pre-pandemic) and I have to say - the valet parking is wonderful and worth the extra few dollars. We're actually using the Parking Spot in Newark for our trip in May. It's definitely less stressful to just pull in to their garage, hand over the keys, and hop on their shuttle than it is to drive around looking for a spot.

From what I can tell, the Parking Spot in Philly doesn't offer valet service. I'd gladly pay extra for it! But they only allow you to choose covered or non-covered self-park when making your reservation online.

Ah man, that makes me sad. I've used the self-park, and it's comparable to the economy lot where you wait for a shuttle to come around to get you.

I'd definitely consider the garages then since they are much closer to the terminal.

I just parked at PHL two weeks ago and only the parking garages are open. The long term lot is permanently closed. If you plan to park in one of the garages, get there earlier than you normally would. It took us about 30 min to locate a spot. There's very limited parking in the garages.
