Can anyone from the Philly area tell me where is a good place to watch the 4th of July Fireworks from besides the Museum? We are going to a concert on the Waterfront that night at 7:30 but would still like to catch the fireworks. Any suggestions
Unless you have been in Center City on the 4th b4, my basic suggestion is not to bother trying to get in after your show. I've never stayed for Fireworks but just went down to do some of the free stuff during the day. It is Ultra- Crowded.
Now that I'm here in VA, I don't have any idea what they plan for this year, but you might be able to see some of the high fireworks from the waterfront. Ideal places are anywhere along the parade route, or near City Hall in general I'd think. But it may be really hard to get there. If you want to settle for a different view try to go to Boathouse Row. That'd give you a back view and you might actually get to see how they are sent up since they are traditionally sent up from behind the Museum.
Good luck if you decide to go. Who's performing this year anyhow?
ON the NJ side, the 730 concert is Pat Benatar. I've gone to the Camden side, and not had a problem. We did get there early, and went to Wiggins Park. We parked near the Camden courthouse, and walked to Wiggins Park. (free but at your own risk parking)
