Phil Collins Losing His Hearing

Phil Collins will be performing his farewell concert in Orlando at TD Waterhouse. He will no longer do concert tours because he has lost most of the hearing in one ear and has partial hearing loss in the other. How sad. All those years standing in front of those huge amplifiers must have taken their toll. I love Phil Collins. I hope he can continue to produce music.

I heard this on the radio yesterday. A great loss, I love his music. But at least we will still be able to enjoy his old stuff.

the poor man, no neck and now no hearing

Sad. Such a great talent.

I heard a new song today and I am sure it is a new one by Phil Collins. Sure sounded like him anyway. I really liked it (of course).

Wow, I didn't know that Feralpeg. Thanks for the post. First, Pete Townsend now Phil Collins. Fan of his 80s music.

He had talked about this a while back but sounds like it has gotten worse. He did a great interview and I don't remember who it was with but it was after Brother Bear came out. He was talking about how much he enjoys doing music for Disney and how they are great to work with. He said Sting came up to him a some music awards and was blasting him for doing "Disney" music. He says it is the best work he has ever had.

Pete Townshend is also suffering noise induced hearing loss. Not much can be done about it, too much exposure to loud noises can harm the nerves in your ears. When the people that are listening to the mega bass sound systems today reach thier 50s, they too will find out what it means to be hard of hearing.

Lou, you are very funny!

Shame! He's a great performer. We've seen him in concert.

:rotfl: :rotfl:

Don't forget no hair either.

That is sad, though. I never liked him until he started doing Disney. How ironic that I don't like Sting either.

I also think one member of the police (Andy Summer I think or is it the other one? ) has done tons of movie soundtracks..

I love Sting, and the Police as well.

Lots of these artists will have have problems. Pete, Phil, and who knows who else?

Oxycontin can cause temporary hearing loss....just ask Rush Limbaugh.

Things that make ya go hmmmm......

We saw Phil on Sunday and what a great show he put on. He played for over 2 hours. Such a shame about his hearing loss though, that wasn't mentioned here at all.

I just heard he played near by. I was really bummed that I missed it and swore that I'd be there next time. Looks like that's out!
