Phase 3 a go for Saratoga Springs

I visited SSR 2 weeks ago while I was there. First off, I guess I hadn't been reading these boards carefully enough becuase I didn't realize only 1 building was open, with the next 3 to open in July, August and September. The map I received has 12 buildings on it and the guy told me that with those 12 buildings that SSR will be the biggest DVC resort, he then showed me on the map where the new additional buildings will be. (On the map, it just shows trees where the new buildings will go).

I do have a question. Does anyone know what the Cinema is? Are they going to run first run movies there?

With regard to the accessibility from the recently announced SSR3 buildings to DTD.
We stayed in the Fairway Villas for ten nights about five years ago. They provided excellent facilities and great access to all points via Disney Transport.
As for as getting to DTD, we either walked through the resort entering by Wolfgang Puck Express and the Rainforest Cafe or crossed the canal and walked the other way, into the West side by Cirque Soleil. Getting home from DTD was even easier, there was an "on demand" boat service from the jetty by Cap'n Jack's to the jetty by the Welcome centre (next to the swimming pool).
As for potentially putting SSR4 where the Treehouse Villas are, I understood these buildings had some kind of preservation status and couldn't be knocked down.

My question is does this announcement mean additional buildings over the ones already on the SSR map and under construction? If the answer is yes, then I do not think that the current pool and dining facilities will be adequate, even with knowing that DTD is so close by. People don't necessarily want to leave their resort to get a meal. However, when you look at the dining options at OKW, only Olivia's and the outside place, that isn't much more than is located at SSR right now.

Having just stayed there this past weekend, it looks to me that the buildings you first encounter on your way into the Resort are far away from everything as it is. I cannot imagine where additional buildings will go.

I think that other than the DTD views, the most requested buildings will be the ones that are located immediately across the street from the Carriage House and High Rock Springs pool. They will have easy access to everything, bus, pool, spa, Artist Palette and so forth.

Based on the map that DVC sent me when I was contemplating purchasing...yes, this is an additional 6 buildings (for a total of 18).

I too am amazed at how fast SSR has been selling. I am not so sure that this is totally a result of the resort itself or it's the only one their are points to buy direct from DVC. I think this indicates the strength of the business as a whole and look forward to different resorts in the future, be they smaller add-ons at a different location such as the Polynesian, Contemporary or Grand Floridian or huge resorts like SSR. Having a larger variety of options will be nice.
