I was just wondering if anyone knew the significance of the part where Madame Giry says to Raol "keep your hand at the level of your eye"

This might be a spoiler if you don't know the story...






Because that's how he kills people, he throws a rope around their neck. If you keep your hand at the level of your eyes then you can catch the rope I guess.

To answer the question about "keep your hand at the level of your eyes" the Phantom is known for using a "lasso" (probably not the correct spelling) or noose. He uses it when he is on the catwalks above the stage and then at the very end when he ties Raoul. The purpose of keeping your hand up would be if the phantom were to try to use the noose on someone your hand would stop the rope from tightening around your throat. So "your hand at the level of your eyes" is a form of protection.

greatest music! My chorus sings a medley of songs from the broadway production and now we don't want to sing anything but the songs from this and Les' Miserables'. Both incredibly amazing broadway productions with beautiful touching music. I haven't seen the movie yet, but my friend said he was gunna drag me to the theater to see it. I cannot wait!

Hey guys,
I saw The Phantom of the Opera movie and I liked it soooooooooo much! Did you know that the girl who played Christine Dae was only 16 yrs. old when she made the movie?! Thats amazing! But I absolutly loved the movie.... a couple of years ago my mom pulled out the broadway CD and I listened to it over and over again and they sounded exactly like it in the movie!
