Phantom in NY

Has anyone seen Phantom of the Opera in NY at the Magestic? I'm looking for input on seats. Is it better to be up close, etc. Thanks.

I've seen this close and back farther.

I think if you can get kind of close, it will be incredible. You can tune out the audience and be totally lost in the show. The further back I was, the more I noticed the audience.

If you're close, be ready at the end of the first act!

not too close in the center-- at least 8 rows back, I would think. Don't want to spoil a surprise, but first several orchestra rows in the center are not the best for this show, IMHO.

try to sit in the orchestra, center section. I can't tell you why, you'll have to trust me, but the experience isn't quite the same in any other part of the house.

Oh don't worry about spoiling the surprise, I've seen it before. Loved it too. Just wondering about this particular theatre. Thanks for the feedback.

I almost always sit in the same row when I see Phantom - front row of the mezzanine. Perfect view I think.
