I am 4 months pg and we are leaving for Disney next week. I assumed I could ride everything my 2 year old could ride but I found that the Kilimanjaro Safari isn't recommended if you are pg. I don't remember it being that bouncy.
Do you think I could ride it.

I'm sure there is some very good reason they don't recommend it, but I rode it at about 5 months without any ill effects. That trip was right after Animal Kingdom had opened and the line was insane. I didn't see any signs warning pregnant riders until we were almost to the end of the line and after waiting that long nothing was going to stop me! Yes there are a few bumps, but I don't think DD felt a thing. She was pretty well padded in there!

I went at 5 months too and road everything except the coasters and things along those lines (like Kali Rapids). I was fine. I personally thought that the speedway cars - with my young DS driving were worse than the safari ride! ;) There are many rides with warnings for pregnant women, but I think that most of them are just CYA (cover your a**) statements. Do what you feel comfortable with and stay away from what you don't. :goodvibes

I agree that you should do what you are comfortable with. I went last year at about 4 months and rode the Safari and it didn't bother me. I mainly stayed off the coaster type rides too.

I was there last week - 4.5 mo pregnant - and must have missed the signs warning pregnant people not to ride. Of course, I did have DS 18 mo there by myself, so I was probably focused on other things! I don't see any reason why you shouldn't ride unless maybe you're 9 months and about to pop since it is kind of bumpy. But then, what would you be doing at WDW?!

I rode the safari at 3 months pregnant. I knew that pregnant women were advised not to ride, but it's really not that different than riding in a car on a bumpy road. Have a great trip! Try to stay cool and drink lots of water.

I went when I was 6 months pg. Yes the safari ride cautions pg riders. Ask to ride in the front row right behind the driver. It's a lot less jarring. That's what I did and so did my pg SIL. We both have just had perfectly normal babies. Good luck and enjoy.

I think the ride is a little bumpy, but they also warn people with back issues. I think it is more of a warning so that Disney can cover themselves. I think that if you are a higher risk pregancy then you shouldn't ride it. But usually, if you were higher risk, you wouldn't be walking around Disney. :rotfl2:

So, I think it depends on how comfortable you are and what your OB recommends for you. I did find it a little bumpy, more than I expected, and we were in the back. I ended up putting my four year old on my lap so he wouldn't bang his head on the back of the seat.

I went at 8 months and rode the Safari - that was the only ride with restrictions I rode and my doctor gave me the go ahead on others. I did like others and asked for the seat behind the driver. So ask your doctor and do what you are comfortable with.
