So, I took dd3 to a local place for breakfast with Dora the Explorer. (it was fun, btw!)

Most people are seated or still walking through the buffet and Dora walks in. Every kid in the room runs over to her and swarms around her. Parents try to be polite, forming a line to see her and take pictures barely inside the front doorway of the restaurant. Multiple announcements are made to go back to your seats and Dora will visit each table, but they are all ignored. :confused3

Most people seem to think those 30 seconds up front were all they were allowed, so once Dora starts going table to table, they wave her past, then give us dirty looks when we spend a few minutes with her at our table. :rolleyes2

I know this wasn't Disney, but obviously, these people were character meal amateurs! :rotfl:

Has anyone else noticed things like this, at Disney or elsewhere, that made you chuckle to yourself, "Amateurs!"?

I love it when my Disney skills kick in while I'm in the "real world"!!!! A couple of months ago we were at the mall and some weird "character" thing in a costume comes out. I think it was a mascot for a jewelry store. Well, most of the little kids run crying and screaming. My 3 yo dd trys to form a line and then when the "handler" tells her to come on up my dd looks at me and poses for a picture. Of course I didn't have a camera with me. It was just funny though because it was so mechanical. She didn't question for a second whether or not she should approach the character!

I get dirty looks when I am places and they want you to fill all the available space and people are trying to form a line. Even get that look at Disney....

How cute! That reminds me that dd did something similar at Red Robin recently, with their big bird.
