PFF & Pixie Hollow questions.

Are these both open daily? Where can I find out their hours of operation? I don't see it listed in the entertainment guide on the website. Is the meet & greet usually for the whole day?

Would be okay if I had one grandparent stay in line early while the rest of the party goes and does something to pass the time? Or is that not cool?

Can't answer all of your questions but I can talk about a few. They are open everyday. There seems to be some debate on when they open but most of the time it is 1 hr after the park opens. However, some have mentioned that on late opening mornings they open at the same time or 30 min after opening.
As for line holding, we did this at the PFF last year with my mom. She waited in line and we had our cell phones and she called when she was towards the front of the line. The line is very open and you can easily join into it. PH was not open then so I don't know if they have a similar line set up. We are going in 10 days so I could let you know but my guess is someone else will chime in with their experience before then.

DD and I waited in the PH line last year for about 45+ minutes to see Tink and Silvermist. My parents knew we would be in line, and somehow found a way to come in at the end of the line just before you meet the pixies. There was a CM there, and they asked if they could join us to snap pics when DD was meeting and greeting.

PFF and Pixie Hollow are open daily and the lines get pretty long in the afternoon, especially for PFF so I would suggest lining up as early as possible. Although it is not uncommon for people to save spots in lines, I am not sure you would want one person to stand in line for a large party (how many people do you have?). I would imagine that people would start to get annoyed if every one person in line saved 4-5 spots. Plus, I am sure the grandparent would get pretty bored as well. JMO

The times for those locations are listed on the entertainment listing they have at the park gates and hotels. Last week PFF was only the Meet & Greet the show/storytelling was not going on. I believe the times for PFF were 1030am-630pm (Mon-Thurs when we were there) The line wasn't too bad, was worth the wait.

Pixie Hollow on the other hand was a long hot wait, very little shade, and kind of a let down, the area is lovely to look at but there are only two fairies and the CM who was Tink didn't really look like Tink and wasn't all that into chatting. Could have passed on that experience and road several rides in the time it took to get through. I believe the times were similar to PFF.

So, from what I'm hearing is that the Pixie Hollow light show is no more? It was only for summer? I do hope they have it again in December this year. I couldn't find anything about it on the DL website so if anyone knows what's up please post.

I think the evening Pixie Hollow show is still continuing.

Speaking for myself, I don't agree with line jumping. The estimated wait time is based off the number of people that are clearly visible in the line. If one or two people are holding spots for others, then the wait time is off. I also think it's not fair for those guests who wait in line with the children suddenly have their wait time increased because other guests leave one person to hold places while they conveniently skip the long lines and visit other attractions. If I saw that happen, I would report to the CM that this group had jumped the line and cut in front of me and party.

Now, if a child needs to use the bathroom, I'm okay with that spot being held temporarily while someone runs them to the bathroom. I also probably wouldn't mind if siblings, parents, and grandparents show up at the very end to see the children who have waited in line the entire time meet the characters and take pictures provided that these adults who have not been in the line only take pictures and watch the meet and greet.

Although I haven't been to DL in a VERY long time, I think I agree with this philosophy. I think line jumping happens, but is frowned upon. It seems really unfair to the kids (don't much care about the adults, sorry!) who did all that "work" only to see that not only is their wait now longer, but these people got to enjoy all this stuff they didn't.

The night time show at PH was going on last week.

Last week the times were about 10am-5pm for both, although I think maybe the princesses opened at 10:30. The wait time for Pixie Hallow varied between 30-45 minutes, for the princesses it was usually an hour or more. Both were well worth it for my daughter, although ti was my wife that waited with her while I went and rode some ride .

I don't see a problem with someone holding your place in line. When I'm waiting for the princesses or Tinkerbell I estimate the wait time more by families than by actual # of people. If 1 person is waiting or 5 people are waiting, if it's still just the one group the wait doesn't really increase for anyone.
Plus, better to let your little one run around a bit instead of melting down due to the long wait and not enjoy visiting with favorite characters.
That said, I don't follow my own advice--everybody waits together
