I'm watching the footage of the plane carrying PFC Lynch arrive at Andrews AFB and had a couple of thoughts cross my mind.
First, I think it says a lot about our country that such a rescue effort was launched to extract a 19-year-old Army Private, someone extremely low in the chain of command. I know, the military says "no one gets left behind," but it's amazing to see it in such a dramatic fashion.
Second, there's still no word on the rest of the POWs.
It's entirely conceivable that Jessica Lynch could be the only surviving POW in this war and the last survivor of her unit. Can you imagine the survivor's guilt she would be facing??
