Petting Zoo

Has anyone ever visited the petting zoo area at FW? Taken the wagon ride around WL/FW? Evening campfire at FW? I'm trying to decide whether to include this in our next trip. How much is it, is it worth it, etc. We'll be making our first trip home to the VWL in March. Thanks!

My in-laws took our kids to the petting zoo last time we were at WDW. The kids enjoyed it, I think it was free but you could buy pony rides. We also took the kids over one day and walked through the horse barn which they enjoyed. If you have some free time and don't want to go to a park, it's nice.

We went to the petting zoo 2 years ago. It was free. Pony rides were $2 and you needed to be at least 2 years old. My then 2-yr-old loved it.

We went there last year on one of our "No Park" days during our last one week WDW trip.

It is free. You can walk through the horse stables, pet various sheep, goats etc. and there were even chickens and peacocks roaming around. There is also a pure white peacock.

There was also a man there that helped you get your child situated on a pony and then walk your child and the pony around a small paddock. I believe the pony ride was free or something very minimal but I am not 100% sure because my daughter was too little at the time.

Sometimes the blacksmith shop is open and you can watch the man, who shoes all the MK draft horses, work.

Well worth a "Quiet" day!

We are going again this upcoming trip, right before the Hoop Dee Doo.

I forgot . . . Trails End Buffeteria at FW is one of the best values at WDW. Our meal was great!

Thanks everyone for all of the useful info. We will definitely make a point to see this area on our trip. With so little "free" things at WDW, this sounds too good to miss.
