Is the petting zoo and conservation station still open at the Fort Wilderness? I am reading conflicting reports. I am trying to make some plans for a trip this August.

If it is still open does anyone know the times? Do they still do pony rides?

Thanks

The petting zoo and conservation station are open, but they are not at FW. They are located at Rafiki's Planet Watch inside AK.

There once was a petting area at the Tri-Circle-D ranch at FW, but the animals were moved to AK and it is just used for pony rides now.

When we've been at Fort Wilderness (last time Oct 07), we didn't see a petting zoo. There was stables with the draft horses and also corrals with miniature horses. You could pet them through the fence. I highly recommend the pony rides ($4 for kids ages 2-8).

There is Conservation Station and petting zoo at Animal Kingdom which is still up and running.
