Does anyone know if pets are allowed at the cabins at Fort Wilderness Lodge? Our pet sitter has fallen through and all the pet boarding places are booked due to spring break. I don't want to cancel the trip due to the pets.

Help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Pets are NOT allowed in the cabins in FW. They are only allowed in the RVS section of FW. There is a pet boarding kennel at Disney. Off hand I do not know the name. If all else fails, call your local VET. A lot of times they will board for you. Good luck.

No, pets are not allowed in cabins (or any Disney hotels) as pp said. There is a
pet day care nearby though. It is *Best Friends Pet Care* and is very convenient. :goodvibes

Does anyone have experience with kenneling their four-legged friend at WDW? We hate to kennel, so any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

No experience with the Disney Kennel (not its name), but for future reference it's Fort Wilderness (the campground, including cabins) and Wilderness Lodge (a large nearby resort). This can be so confusing that the boat operators usually double check before letting people board that they really want to go to the campground or the resort.

I do know the kennel is only a couple years old. It's said to be a top notch facility, but your individual pet may disagree.

We kenneled our storkie twice during our Feb trip, didn't stay at disney and only went to Epcot. Left him when we spent the day at Epcot, then for Sat night, all day Sun and Sunday night and picked him up on Monday morning. (Daytona 500, didn't want to leave him in the kennel in the camper that long on Sunday) We thought they were great,:cool1: got "report cards" when we picked him up, told of the other dogs he played with, what they did, how much he ate, etc. (I think his playmate Jethro taught him bad things,:rotfl2: LOL) On Sunday, my DW got a text message from our fur baby..Having a lot of fun, but miss you guys. We had to chuckle but it was kinda nice. You pay for the day or overnight stay, then you can add "extras" play time, explore time, doggy ice cream snack, storytime, etc. When we return in 2014, will leave him there again, we were really happy with Best Friends.:):)
