I hear some Universal Hotels take pets? Any done this? What does it cost to keep your pet in a room with you?

Special treatment for both pets and their owners begins with a personal note from the general manager with information on hotel pet services, local dog-walking routes, puppy pagers, and area pet services like veterinarians, pet shops, groomers, pet attractions, and pet-friendly restaurants. Amenities include place mats with food and water bowls, toys and treats.

Pet room service menus have been developed and approved by a licensed veterinarian and suggest proper nutrition to help pets deal with travel stress. Health conscious pets will be pleased to note the vegetarian entrées. A selection of dry and canned pet foods is also available.

The concierge desk is happy to arrange pet walking and pet sitting services, while the "Did You Forget ?" Closet includes many pet necessities, such as dog and cat beds, leashes, collars, pet toys and videos, litter boxes, and even pooper-scoopers.

Loews has also established standard cleaning procedures with specially-filtered vacuums to remove any pet allergens from the room.

I think if you do a search on this board you may find some posts about pets at these hotels.

This perk is great. We stayed over Labor Day weekend at the HRH and our two Boston Terriers had a wonderful time! They got a roomservice delivered Goodie Bag with Treats, Bowls, Bottled Water, and their own placemats! They were simply treated like the royalty they are- it was just like home, but with goosedown duvets. All you need to bring is a shot record for your baby and they are in! Everyone is really nice to them and they are welcome. Just remember to clean up after them when you go for walkies... since they are one of the few nice hotel chains (other than Ritz Carlton) to allow them, we were very careful to make sure ours were as unaggravating as possible. Loews Loves Pets has turned us fm true blue Disney Hotel nuts into HRH fanatics!

Enjoy your trip!

Do they have pet only rooms? I am just asking because not matter how well someone vacuums, there is still dander on things. Our DD has severe animal dander allergies and we have ressies there. Can we ask for a no-pet room?

What we were told at check-in was that the pet floor was the fifth floor. However, if it were me, I would advise the front desk and the reservationist of the allergic condition so that they can choose wisely for your family. However, be advised just in case they don't tell you this- the pet guests use the same elevators as everyone else so the risk for exposure is practically unavoidable in that area- a dust or surgical mask might be advisable for elevator travel.

Happy Vacation!
