Petrol Prices in the UK?

What is petrol costing you today? I'm trying to create a comparison for my students.

Petrol is currently around £0.97 a litre, which is approximately £4.41 per UK gallon (the US gallon is slightly different).

So this would be around $7.28 per gallon ($1.65/£).

It's around 93 pence a litre here in NI, depending on where you buy it.

Yep, it's a lot here too

I even drove to work today wondering about the logistics of cycling rather than driving

I use diesel, which is now about 94.9p per litre in the north west UK.

The price being displayed in litre's still annoys me, it was supposed to be to bring us in line with Europe, but it conveniently helped the gas companies hide the true price of a gallon from those who couldnt multiply the amount by 4.54.

Here in Bangor N.I at Tescos today was 88.9p and Asda down the road is 89.9, seems quite good considering some prices

Wow, I don't feel nearly as bad. Oh, I'm still mad that I'm paying $2.98 per gallon for premium. I can't imagine paying the equivalent of $7 per gallon.

The way petrol prices are rising for us at the moment ~ We will soon be paying that for a litre

your price is incredibly high, especially considering you're an oil producing country (aren't you? - the north sea?)

i'm completely blown away by that price.....

Most of it is Tax . It's meant to 'encourage' us to use more public transport.

If it helps 1 litre = 0.264172051 US gallons
or
1 US gallons = 3.7854118 litres


This means it is about $6.40 a US gallon over here.
