Peter Pan's Flight stopped while we were on it!

Over the years I have read how they won't stop Peter Pan's Flight except for an emergency - well, they must have had an emergency this week!

We were at the flying over London scene, and the ship came to a sudden, rough stop. The ride vehicle doesn't swing into the motion, and it felt quite jarring. Less than a minute later (I think?) it started up again with another jerk, and my head bumped hard into the sail. Ouch! I see why they don't want to stop it - it is not a smooth operation.

I hadn’t heard that before. But, I was on it a few years ago and the ride got stopped. I definitely agree it was very rough when it stopped and restarted.

Yes, they often stop it to allow for someone needing extra time to load. It's stopped many times for us, and it is definitely not a slow to stop ride.

Sorry you got bumped! Ouch!

It was the very first time it has stopped while I was on it, nd I've been going to WDW for over 25 years. I disagree that they often stop it for people to load, but they do slow it down.

I've been on that ride many times where it's stopped mid ride. I thought they always did that to let wheelchair people transfer.

We've been riding since it opened and we go often, riding at least a couple times a trip. Honestly it has gotten to be a bit of a joke on if we are going to stop or not. We get stopped about 30-50% of the time.

I do think for sometimes is wheelchairs but also folks who don't get on/off fast enough and run out of moving walkway.

You've been lucky. I have literally watched it stop fully, many times, to load a wheelchair guest. At least this is the case in Disneyland.

I got stuck halfway up the lift on Space Mountain. Getting out of the car at that angle destroyed my back more-so than the ride itself. :rotfl2: pooh:

Every single time we have been on this ride it’s gotten stopped or stuck. But we continue to go on it!

Is it possible that what you've read about the ride "not stopping" is actually just the loading process? I found a post from a few years back talking about how it's the only ride at Magic Kingdom that does not stop the moving walk to enter the ride vehicle - https://plandisney.disney.go.com/qu...-flight-lift-daughter-wheelchair-ride-300696/ .
