Peter Pan Ride in DL vs. WDW

For anyone who has been to both parks, is the Peter Pan ride the same as the one in Disney World?

No, but they're very similar. WDW's has a continuous loading zone with a speedramp, no dialogue or lyrics--just music, and some differences in the interior show scenes. DLR doesn't have a continuous loading zone--the boats have to stop to load and unload, there are lyrics and dialogue along with the music, and the show scenes are somewhat more elaborate. I find the DLR version to be the better ride--it feels like it tells the story better.

FWIW, the loading at WDW does nothing to expedite the line. It's still a long wait. DL version had a complete refurb when Fantasyland was remodeled in 1993. It's better than the WDW version.

Refurb was in 1983. . That's when we got Pinocchio too.

This might just be me - but I feel like DL is darker. At WDW, I felt like I saw more 'behind the scenes.' Rods holding up the 'stars' and walkways along the track. Things like that. Anyone else?

I agree with this. I prefer the one at DLR, mostly because it's the original. But they are practically the same.

If you compare ride thrus on Youtube you can see a few differences. The DL version has a few upgraded effects, but the two versions are still fairly similar. Hopefully it'll be upgraded for the 60th like Alice.

Yeah. I think the biggest difference is the soundtrack. When I rode MK's for the firs time, I kept wondering why the same music with no human voices just kept looping over and over. (And over.)

That's why I originally asked about Peter Pan. I didn't want to get stuck waiting on a line for it if it was exactly the same as Disney World's. I would have just skipped it. Being that it's our 1st trip to DL, guess we will attempt to ride it, but not waiting 45+ for it

Fwiw, yesterday they had a posted time of 40 min about 35 min after park open but we looked at it and said no way - much shorter. It was 20 min. I think they start the line showing 40. It was a non MM.

DL's Peter Pan has a better star effect with a whole sequence where you really feel like you're flying through the stars. That alone makes DL's better to me. I don't recall that effect in the WDW version. Another thing I remember about WDW is that Neverland is larger and closer to the vehicles, whereas at DL it is smaller and looks farther away.

ALL rides & attractions are similar but different between the parks. The only ones that are exact copies are those that are film based and even those the theaters are different.
