Peter Pan cruise question

We are taking DD4 and DD7 on the Peter Pan cruise in October. I know very little about this event. Has anyone been on this cruise? Opinions....
Will we be able to hear any of the wishes music? How long will it last? Any other info would be greatly appreciated.

Is it the Magical Gathering one? If it is, we did it last December and everyone loved it. Yes, the music gets piped in. I believe the reception was about 1/2 hour and the cruise itself was about 1 hour.

To my surprise DD8 announced today that Peter Pan is her favourite disney character (because he helps children). Therefore, can someone tell me all about this crusie or provide a link to more information. We are not going to WDW on a grand gathering, but I have read about others going to a grand gathering event since the grand gathering family needed to fill seats? Can anyone explain what this means and how to do this?
Thank you
Suzy V.

i would like more info also. what characters are on this cruise? is it just peter or can wendy be there too? and of course the age old question, the cost?

Which cruise are you going on? The Magical Fireworks Voyage is a Grand Gathering event (you must be a part of a Grand Gathering - a group of 8 or more people). It is a dessert cruise and starts at the CR. Capt. Hook and Mr. Smee are there at the dessert reception and then you go on a special Wishes cruise with your pirate captain "Patch". After Wishes and the Electric Water Parade you go back to the CR, where Peter Pan is waiting. We really enjoyed this Grand Gathering event. We had a group of 30+ friends and family and they all loved it. Now there are also two children's cruises during the day. The first one is the Grand Adventure Cruise and it leaves from the GF. Only the children go, no parents are allowed. My dd's have done this several times and really love it. The second children's cruise is newer, it is called the Albatrose Cruise. It leaves from the YC/BC. Again, it is only for the kids. There are CM's that are certified lifeguards on the cruises. There are no charaters on the children's cruises, but my dd's really had fun!

Thank you for the info. I guess I would be most interested in the magical fireworks voyage (so the kids could see characters) but since there will only be 3 of us, I will have to pursue the albatross or the GF cruise for the kids.
Thanks again for the info.

If DD is a Peter Pan fan, you should think about signing up for the family magic tour that runs through the Magic Kingdom each day at around 10:00 am. They only take about 15-20 people a day.

Can you tell me more about he family magic tour? Does it have anything to do with Peter Pan?
Thank you
Suzy

Yes, it is a walking tour / adventure around the MK with a Peter Pan theme (at least it was when we went back in March 2005). The group gets to get a private meeting with characters at the end of the tour and they go on a ride with the group. In our case, the characters were Peter Pan and Wendy and they took us to the front of the line at Mickey's Philharmagic and sat with us.

Here's a link to some info on Allearsnet:

You can also get some information if you search this forum for posts on the topic.

It was great fun for the whole family but will be particularly enjoyed by the younger kids in the group. Spaces are limited, though.

We are going as part of a Grand Gathering for the evening fireworks. I wish I could tell you the cost but DW put together the whole thing. I do have a follow-up parking question; can I park at the CR early in the day if I have this reservation for the evening? We may make a stop at the MK for a few hours before the cruise.
