How is the wait at Peter Pan at rope drop? We were planning on hitting that first so we don't have to waste a FP on it. Now that no one is running to collect fast passes how is the wait at rope drop there? We used to run to dumbo but now with the 2 dumbo rides I dont think that people hit that first? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! We will be there the Monday after the Feb break is over so hopefully the crowds won't be that bad.

I think hitting Peter Pan first is definitely a good thing. That's always one of the first ones we hit too so we don't have to do it later or waste a FP on it.

Peter Pan is always our rope drop. We can usually get right on and then head over to Winnie the Pooh. Not sure how Fantasyland will change our plan next time. :)

If you are there at RD and go right to PP it will almost certainly be a walk on. Although PP gets a long line pretty quickly, there aren't that many people who go there first.

Agree with PP--Pan first is never a bad idea. Dumbo is definitely low on the priority scale for a variety of reasons. See the green link in my signature for more FP info.

It will be my first ride at rope drop also - that way we dont have to use a fp.

Only way to do it IMO. We make a bee-line for PP, hit Pooh on the way to Goofini and Dumbo. Walked on each even Christmas week.

Rope drop Peter Pan is great now. Everyone runs to New Fantasyland for ETWB or Little Mermaid or Ariel's Grotto, so if you head to PP, you should be able to walk on. We went to Peter Pan walked on, then went to New Fantasyland and walked onto Little Mermaid, and then to Ariel's Grotto and just had a few people in front of us to see Ariel. Now, if you head to Peter Pan first, don't expect to get over to ETWB and have a wait of less than 45 minutes or an hour- that is where everyone runs and it builds up fast. There is absolutely no reason to run to Dumbo anymore, at least unless you are in a low crowd time. Our last couple of trips, we have hit it mid morning and never had to wait more than a few minutes. Also, Dumbo is beautiful at night now. I would recommend hitting at a night sometime if you can. We also found that there was virtually no line at night when we were there, we were riding it over and over. Sometimes, the play area is closed at night though, so if that is important be aware of that. Also, be aware that if you do head to Dumbo in the morning that play area can really be a pain because it is hard to get kids out of and you can lose valuable time. Also, if there is no line, they will give you the option to do play area or skip play area- if you do the play area (which some kids will beg for) they give you a beeper set for 8 minutes. It can be hard to get the kids out when that 8 minutes is up.

That's what we were thinking of doing as well. Making a beeline for Peter Pan, and then visiting Ariel and Rapunzel, possibly Cindy if her wait is short. Then heading over to Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise. We are going during the last week of March, which will be crazy busy, but I am hopeful that if we arrive at rope drop we can still have a successful morning!

We were there last month and the line built quickly. Our normal touring strategy (before the FL expansion) included FP Peter Pan before heading to Dumbo, Pooh, etc. This trip was completely different. By about 9:10, the line for PP was 20 minutes (actual time we spent in line). This was with us having had breakfast at CP, and being out of the restaurant a few minutes before 9. Bottom line - get to PP early to avoid the rapidly building line.

Peter Pan is always the first ride we head to at rope drop. We are able to ride it 2-3 times in a row before the line starts to build. :thumbsup2

We were at MK on January 29 for rope drop and headed straight to Peter Pan. There was no wait. I mean, we weren't the first people on the ride, but we were able to walk through the line without stopping and were on the ride before we ever saw anyone get off. For reference, it opened at 9:00, we were there at 8:30, and were front and center for the rope drop ceremony. We headed through the castle when they opened the gates but were held at the entrance to Fantasyland. We made sure to get on the left side of the group waiting at Fantasyland and when they dropped that rope we headed straight to Peter Pan's Flight.
