Peter pan at rope drop questions

They do let you through the castle, just not immediately. Yes, it will be obvious that it is closed. In case you missed my post above... this is what we did. We could see the opening show while we waited. Not the greatest view for little kids, but it was fine.

Hmm... we haven't been to MK since they started the welcome show at the castle, and we will be doing Peter Pan first thing.

Do you think it would be faster to take the left-hand route around the castle (Liberty Square side) rather than wait for the castle route to be opened? (We would certainly avoid the 7DMT crowd that way.)

Yes, that's what we did. I described it in my previous post.

We rope dropped on this past Thursday. I was hoping to go up the path on the left hand side of the castle, but they were only letting those with dining reservations up that path, so we had to turn and go the long way through Liberty Square. We did it with a double stroller and six kids and were through the line and out of the ride within about 10-15 minutes of getting there so you should be just fine!

Your closest stroller parking will either be near the Tangled Restrooms or behind the Carousel, depending on which way you're approaching PP.

So if we plan to do POO at BOG then ride PP then head to Frontierland would you recommend parking the stroller at the tangled restrooms before breakfast then we could pick it up on our way over to Frontierland? The stroller is for the 2 and 4 year olds that like walking (in the morning at least!)

It’d save you a few seconds, but I am somewhat sure they won’t let you past a line roughly between PP and IASW during that PPO time, so you might be out of luck (I’m not totally sure on that, FYI).

The carousel stroller parking is just a few steps from PP anyway, so it’s no big deal if you need to park it there.

OP here!! -- Well I think with all your great input i will put it down for a rope drop. I do love FP for saving time, but i also feel like we are missing out on some of the experience when you don't get to see what is going on in the queue.

I'm glad. I never miss PP at RD. Even as an adult, it is my favorite queue. WIth kids it is magical!

This is a great thread! I wanted to agree about the suggestion of getting a stroller for young kids. Even if they are past the stroller stage at home, WDW is another matter altogether. One advantage is that it keeps kids within your control so they aren't wandering into on-coming pedestrian traffic, or simply heading off in a different direction from mom & dad.;) The other thing is that if you're spending long days in the park, they can doze off in the stroller rather than the adults taking turns holding a sleeping child...in the heat...and the humidity...and the hordes of guests:)

My experience was similar to others. We RD’d MK and stood in front of the rope blocking the left ramp leading to the castle. The CM kept telling the group that after the show, she remove the rope and lead us through the castle, & to please not run. We watched the show, and no, it was the perfect angle but we could see all the characters closely. As soon as it was done, we followed the CM. There was one family who seemed to want to push by folks, but the families with us near the front just walked calmly and didn’t give them space to pass us all, so they didn’t get far! We got to PP very quickly, parked our double stroller, got the kids out, and got in the standby queue. It took us maybe 5 mins to get on the boat. When we got off, the wait time was listed at 45 or 60 min. I think it was faster going through the castle vs. through Liberty Square, but probably not by much more than a minute or two. And yes, most of the crowds were waiting for SDMT!
