Pete I know you are a big video game fan, so have you been paying attention to any of the E3 coverage. Havent been many Disney related content other then them showing more trailers for the DS Kingdom Hearts game and for fans of Little Big Planet on PS3 sackboy will be getting Disney clothing, they showed a Captain Jack sackboy!

I'm catching up on the Sony Presentation, but they've got to do a lot to beat Project Natal!

Uncharted 2 has me most excited, but I already was since finishing the first one!

:goodvibes

Well, finished watching sony presentations, Uncharted 2, FF14 and some other things excited me... was definately more inpressed by Microsoft...

To be honest, I thought the microsoft motion control thing looked cool but can't see it being well implimented. But I am a Sony fan so am obviously gonna be blinkered :)

I am excited for Uncharted 2 as well, the presentation in the first was incredible, tho I think it was heavy on the gunplay and you never really got to use the hand to hand stuff. I tried the multiplayer beta last night, but was that impressed with it. I dont know why devs feel the need to inclulde a multiplayer component in every game. Its an action/adventure game it doesnt need to really lend itself to multiplayer. Of course I was exhausted when I got around to playing (and making this thread since you can see I left words out of the title :rotfl: ) so I will give it another shot soon.

Sony had some cool things, FF14 was a big surprise, however I was bummed to see its a MMO, I dont mind them doing it but it annoys me that they are a numbered FF game, it annoyed me when they called their first MMO FF11, should have just called ti FF online. Sony's motion control seemed like a bit of a joke after seeing NATAL. I also thought the price for the PSP GO was insane. :scared1: Best thing they showed was The Last Guardian, even though it was no surprise since it was leaked last week. Team ICO is one of my favorite dev teams.

MS nothing major in terms of surprises, back to back falls with new halo releases however was a nice to hear, but they throws off the proposed every other year Gears/Halo thing MS said it wanted to do. And finally seeing more of Alan Wake was very nice, been waiting on that one forever. Peter M. and his imaginary boy seem...odd to say the least. What the heck is Rare doing now, other then XBLA of Perfect Dark?

Nintendo, where to start. I think they might have gone a little too far with the peripherals, Wii heart rate monitor? :lmao: New mario titles abound, what they announce 3? New Metroid looks interesting. But what about new Zelda/Pikmin/Pilot Wings/Star Fox/F Zero/Kid Icurus??? What is Retro studios up to now that they arent working on the Metroid series anymore?

Overall the show has been pretty cool, but sadly not many big surprises yet.

I like it, summing up the 3 biggest presentations of E3 in one post... my problem is that too many of the games excite me for my own good, and being on a quest to play as many games as possible doesn't help.

Although not in the major presentations, Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, Tales of Monkey Island, Left 4 Dead 2 and Lego Harry Potter interest me... greatly...

Left 4 Dead 2 looks cool as there is daylight stuff, but I personally I wish the game would have a stronger single player campaign. I know that isnt the focus of the game, but I love games with a strong storyline element.

This E3 has so far been an underwhelming snorefest for me. Nothing new has really caught my eye, although Final Fantasy XIII is looking promising. Project Natal looks kind of cool in a general technology sort of way, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I agree with the Natal probably not working as well as they show it does. If it does work that great then they need to share the voice recognition tech with every company that uses it for their phone system.

I pretty much feel like this, too. The Milo demonstration for Project Natal had me like this ---> for a solid four minutes, but I have a hard time believing it'll really translate that well to actual games/home environments. Time will tell, I guess. I liked the PS3 motion controller, too (though I hope the finished product won't look like a supped up bingo dabber..).

I think the thing I've been most excited about this E3 has been the Monkey Island announcements. Can't wait for Secret: SE and Tales! :yay:

Haha to bingo dabbers! Although I think Microsoft one looks better to me, you can keep your hands free!

Also, Secret and Tales!!!! Almost pre-ordered Tales off of their site... but have also "acquired" all the original games... I still have MI2 on 3 1/2 Inch Floppy! It's just about as old as I am! :rotfl:

**Cough** Microsoft fanboy, erm, girl ;) **Cough**

The Monkey Island stuff looks pretty cool tho, always loved them since I used to play it on my Amiga, now I have 1 and 2 on my iPhone :thumbsup2

Hey I like Playstation! But in terms of motion control, microsofts looked better and more polished!

Gotta disagree myself. Microsoft looked like a tech demo (maybe why it looked more polished?) whereas Sony's looked like it was implimented to proper software.

Anyway, motion-schmotion. My Wii sits next to my TV gathering dust (except the odd burst of Animal Crossing), sometimes i just wanna sit on the couch and not move my arms :rotfl2:

Consoles are all about games rather than these "gimmicks" and both Microsoft and Sony have some crackers on the way :thumbsup2

True, but I think the other way, Sony didn't have a finished environment, rather a "test" area, whereas Microsoft had some functioning examples, that looked almost finished, as if they could be released soonish and function without bugs...

You are right tho, my Wii doesn't get as much play as the 360 or even the PS3, but I do still love it...

The Sims 3 on friday, might try and pick up a copy of infamous, and didn't realise Fuel was out tomorrow...

I still have my original MI1 and 2 discs (and the cds from the later ones). I was a little older than you when they came out, apparently. I remember playing the pre-release demo for MI1, actually. Though to be fair, I was only 11 or 12 at the time. Still, quit makin' me feel old! :lmao:

I was under the impression everything that MS showed for Natal was prototype (well, maybe not Milo, but the things in their main presentation). The voice over for it said something about it being 'samples of their vision for the tech', rather than 'things we've got working'. I haven't done much more reading into it, though, so I may be off base there. I think that's why I was a little more impressed with the PS3 controller & sample environments at this point, because they seem much closer to producing something I can have in my living room. Well, in my living room after I buy a PS3...

already halfway into my 2nd play through

That's the good point to it, playing through as good then playing through as evil.

I've not really given it a serious play as I'm pretty busy with work at the moment so I'm still on the first Island, I just love jumping and sliding from rooftop to rooftop destroying Reapers en route to where I'm going :cool1:
