Pete, any thoughts about video taping the Podcast show and putting it up on the site?

Kevin, I think you know me by now. I guess this sums it up as well as anything. Everyone has an opinion that's no better than anyone else’s. That being said, I have a problem, pet peeve and very little tact, however for people who:
Argue for the sake of arguing; for people for whom
it will be known as the pop heard around the "World" if Pete ever shuts this site down, PUN intended; who
take things from post and twist them entirely inaccurately; who
read things into post that don’t exist.
When I get tactless, rude and charmless, this is the reason.

Ummmmmmmmmm. What?!?!

I read the thread, no one was arguing for the sake of arguing, you posted your opinion, they posted theirs. Other than that part I have no idea what you said.

I'm just going to skip the drama and say that while I think lots of us would like a video podcast, whether every once and awhile or only on special occasions, I would not like being taped personally, so I understand the dilemma. That is why I am the Teaching Assistant for the Documentary Film class, not the interview subject ;) I can tape people all day long but am extremely camera concious. Plus, from what the team has said about the round table they record at, I am thinking the logistics of videoing it are enough to make Pete want to go to Universal and work as a guest service team member;) It's hard enough work for them to get all the audio together for such a quality show but videoing it would require multiple cameras, tricky if not impossible setup, and just a downright pain for everyone involved.

Just my $2.50.

I would have loved to see the Swan/ Dolphin show from last week on video! Although, with the description of the deconstructed shrimp coctail, I would have fallen off the elliptical. I was laughing enough just from the audio that I was sure people thought I was on more than an exercise high.

The above is not an opinion, but a fact. Everything else, just opinion. Feel free to roll eyes as needed! ;)

Maybe not every episode, but once in a blue moon. Always leave them wanting more. Or leave them leaving people wondering what they're on...

When I get tactless, rude and charmless, this is the reason.

You know me as well, so this will not come as a surprise.

There is no reason for being rude (it's actually against Dis policies) and now that I know it's intentional and that I'm not mis-reading things.....I'll just delete the things I think are rude and unnecessary and assign points via the Dis disciplinary policy.

Fair enough?

:confused3 I'm baffled, befuddled, bemused, bewildered, confounded, confused, lost, mazed, mixed-up, and down right
perplexed. What happened? Never mind. Can't we all just get along? :grouphug: It's 9/16.

I have done TV interviews in the past. When people are watching your every move you aren't as relaxed as you would be for "radio." I like the fact that I don't have to get dressed up to do the podcast. Jeans, tshirt, flip flops. I wouldn't dress like that if we were doing a video show. I think it would take away the friendly feeling of the show.

That is why I said occasionally like we did on the cruise is fun. Not all the time.

I agree that a video show would be great fun for those of us watching, but if it were me I would HATE to be video'd!

I think I would feel far more self conscious and nervous.

Like Kathy said it would potentially impact the way the team dressed and acted with each other and I for one love the friendly and natural flow of the Podcast. :)

Occasional 'specials' might be fun but I would never want any of the Podcast team to feel uncomfortable on my behalf.

Plus all the editing of the show would make video rather difficult I imagine... how about another idea... how about an enhanced Podcast with the occasional photo thrown in. When Kevin is describing an amazing (good or bad) dish he's experienced then a photo could flash up, or when an accommodation review is being performed then a photo of the room could come up?

Just my two penneth :goodvibes

Well things went south pretty fast let all get along we all love the podcast. We will just have to agree for know their be no taped podcast but if the team fells they can do one then they will. Mybe they can do one a month if it works like the us show could be taped to make it different then the regualr show. Let all take a min and remeber a their best disney memory.:thumbsup2

Hm, I suppose a videocast is more like wishful thinking, but oh well :) I for one am usually doing things while I listen, but I think it would be cool to see just once how the podcast members interact with eachother when they're talking.

Or better yet, when they have the shows where they open packages from listeners! I've always wanted to be able to see the little gifts and candies~

Oh, and I've also always wanted to see what the Prizematron looked like too.

Ummmmmmmmmm. What?!?!

I read the thread, no one was arguing for the sake of arguing, you posted your opinion, they posted theirs. Other than that part I have no idea what you said.

I don't either. Made no since to me either. I guess it didn't come out the way it was intended.

From and editing sense a video Podcast would be much more labor intensive to release a smooth professional looking/sounding product.

I wouldn't be interested in a video podcast, speaking solely for myself. That's partially because I always listen to the podcast when I drive, but regardless, I don't feel that anything would be added by filming it. I can't blame the podcasters for not wanting to deal with it either. :)
