Pete, this whole thing is a lot bigger then the firefighters union. Disney doesn't want to set a precedence that will affect the negotiations with all of the other unions.
As far as cost of living raises go, unless it's in their contract, they don't get it. 8 years without a cost of living raise is the union's fault for agreeing to such, if that's the case.
As far as Disney assisting in paying increases in medical insurance cost, union money and votes were instrumental in bringing Obamacare to this country. Not only are Unions having to pay the 40%+ increases in health insurance cost, so is the rest of America. The Union may not like it, but TOO BAD.
If the union members don't like their work conditions, they should just leave and go find other jobs.
