Hi all, including pete and the gang and all the disers:

the other day Pete mentioned that he is shocked when every now and then he stops to think that there are thousands of listeners out there. That really is wonderful. I guess it would be really hard to estimate ... for one, I've been a member of this board for a year now, but as you can see I am mainly a LURKER. like many lurkers, i obsess every week waiting for the show, and diligently go through the threads with a smile as I prepare for my next trip, learning, being entertained, and just loving every minute of it.

i wonder how many lurkers like me really are out there? I apologize that we don't express ourselves enough, and that maybe we are sponges or should I say parasites to everyone's hard work and research and tips (podcoast crew and Disers alike). I just want to say that it does not go unappreciated. Thank you so much for bringing a smile to our faces. Maybe one day we'll come out of our shell and say hi more often. keep up the awesome work.

I'm a semi-lurker. At least on these boards. I listen to the podcast and read threads on this board but I post elsewhere. But I did have to post that I was not going on the podcast cruise. I was glad to see that there are other people who are not going because I felt like I was the only one!

Glad to see you both posting. This is a very friendly group of people. Stick around and post more often. :)

I was a podcast listener for a long time before I ever posted to the boards. I thought that was "enough".

I read the boards for information and trip planning help. That was good.

Then I started interacting by posting on the boards by adding my own "expertise". Then Wednesday night in chat.

What a trip!

I am sure Pete can tell how many people download the podcasts. I would be curious to know. I do like the idea that I am just one more person in the peanut gallery listening to the show.

Hi All,

My name is Skip. I am disabled by Cerebral Palsy and spend my time researching WDW. I never miss an episode of the Podcast, and I read the boards every day. I'd really like to get more involved and meet some new people, but just have not jumped in yet.

My birthday was last week. Since the parks were too crowded to go for my birthday, my parents gave me a trip to DIS-A-Palooza for my birthday, so I can meet everyone. I cannot wait! We even booked through Dreams Unlimited Travel. Staying at Pop Century.

Welcome lurkers. I used the WDWinfo part of the site for a while before stumbling across the podcast. I lurked for a while and then joined. I imagine there are a lot of people who do that. You really get a lot of great info, not only on the podcast forum but on all of them.

:banana:Definitely a big welcome to all of you who lurk!
If you don't want to step into the limelight - that's definitely okay. A lot of folks post on internet forums with nothing to say.... :rolleyes1 If you do want to take a more active part, don't be afraid! Don't hesitate to be a part of the threads and get to know the other "regulars".

DL Correspondent Tony has the same story you guys do - long-time listener, but not a boards poster - and now he's one of the West Coast contingent. It's definitely not all about how visible you are on the boards that makes you just as much of a part of the DIS community.

I, too, listened to the show for months before I did my first post. Let me tell you that I have made so many wonderful friends here on the boards. I've met quite a few of them in person, too!

Thanks for sharing your stories!

Happy Belated Birthday! I hope you & your family have a magical trip! :wizard:

I lurked for years before finally posting, then started listening to the Podcast (best decision I ever made). The Disboard was an invaluable source of information and money saving tips for years before I came out of hiding.
Now it's such an important part of my life, I really would be lost without it.

Anyhoooooo, I'm glad you are coming out of lurkdom. :goodvibes

Thank you so much. We have been to WDW countless times, but this will be the first time we have ever attended a fan event. It will be fun to meet new friends who understand me.

I cannot believe I am really posting here. This is fun.

Thank you again,

Howdy Skip. :) Last years Dis event at Mouse Fest was an awesome time. It was more than Pete renting Toy Story Mania for us, It was meeting the folks on these boards and becoming friends with so many new people that made it great. I still speak regularly with several of the Disers I met last December. You can't put a high enough value on something like a new friend.
Don't be afraid to jump right in and start posting, most of us are harmless! :lmao: See you at Dis-a-Palooza! :thumbsup2

Welcome to all the new posters. It's great to see you here, and I can't wait to hear what you have to say. Hopefully I'll get to meet some of you soon as well.

I have been a DISboards lurker and a faithful podcast listner for about a year and half now. I stumbled across the DIS in January 2008 while planning my first WDW trip with my sister coming along, who I just met for the first time 10 years ago! I LOVE this group! Full of GREAT information and FUN and not a day goes by without me being on this site. THANK YOU for everything! I consider the DIS a part of my family.:cheer2: You fill my days with Disney  and lots of this:lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

This is great everybody!! what a community ...

it's like a Disboards Lurkers Coming Out Party!! :cool1: (so to speak )
