Petals & Pixie Dust Planning Journal 11/30/2009/2010

You look wonderful in all those dresses! I am totally intimidated by dress shopping and am scared to go, but since the wedding is in 10 months, I should look! lol I love the one you said was too much, too! lol. I loved the sparkle and it made your waist look so tiny and feminine!

I also have that ornament! If you have any metal tag from anywhere a reputable jeweler can take care of engraving for you. I'd look for a cheap christmas ornament on sale with a small tag and just remove the tag.

I tell you what, those strapless lace-up jobbies do wonders for the girls! My bridal shop told me to hold the dress in place whilst they laced it up from the mid-back, then grab the twins and hoist them up whilst they laced the top.

I looked like my C's had gone all Pamela Anderson!

Awesome tip, I'll remember that!

I've got a ton of time until the wedding...2010...but I'm glad that I started shopping NOW b/c otherwise it wouldn't be pretty :headache:
I didn't think about looking at a jewlery shop for a tag....Great idea~Thanks~

I just got all caught up on your PJ. You have such a nice story and such a fun way of telling it. I'm looking forward to continuing on.

Good luck with your dress search. You do look beautiful in those gowns so I am sure you will find just the right one!

Our Disney Wedding Fund jug is my Dad!

My mom & dad are paying for the wedding, but outside photo/video (if we do that) and our trip is all us. So, I started this jug. It has Tinkerbell on it and pixie dust and flowers...and now I can't find the pic :sad2: I'll have to get another one when I'm over there next time

Thanks for reading! I'm really enjoying sharing our story and the journey that goes along with planning a wedding!!!

Can you believe my mom used the word AHA in Scrabble today? Yikes. I think I should have challenged her on it, but instead I decided to use it in title of this post! :rotfl:

I love all of the dresses I can't pick one. They're gorgeous!!!! and the fund jug is the cutest thing ever!!!

Thanks! That was just the first trip...Unfortunately none of them made my heart pitter patter...Oh well. More shopping to be done!
I loved making this jug! My mom and I had a great time decorating it!

Howdy!
With my internship done, no classwork to do, no deadlines, and only working 1 day a week...Leaves me for a ton of time to do nothing! I'm bored! This has never happened before, but it gives me the opportunity to wedding plan, play wii, be on the wii fit once a day (gotta get in dress shape) and cook for DF...Which I don't do much of once school starts.

Xmas is in a couple of days. Every year DF and I get a xmas bulb for the tree. This started when we got our first tree and needed to get ornaments-that was an expensive year! DF didn't want ANY xmas bulbs and I insisted on just one-at least. So, each year we've gotten a bulb from Hallmark. It's become tradition. The years that we don't get a Hallmark bulb we get a mouse ears one from WDW and have it painted and mailed home-Nothing like getting pixie dust when you get back from your trip! There is one stipulation to this. The year we get married, each child's first Xmas-gets an ornament commemorating that year. So, this year, instead of getting a bulb, I found this...

I fell in  and had to have it! The only problem I have is that it doesn't have the date on it. So, I'm in search for a small silver tag to put on it to have something like "Engaged 11/19/2008" :lovestruc Now, if I can only find a tag that doesn't go to a bracelet or cost a ton, we'll be talking business. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Ok off to sharpen my Wii skills. DF downloaded Super Mario Bros. Figures, he gets me an up to date game system and I want to play the old games!!! :lmao: He even bought me a Wii Points Card to get them! I'm telling you-that boy doesn't buy me flowers-he buys me electronics...And that's ok-they last longer! :rotfl:

I just bought the same ornament! It's so cute and perfectly describes how my DF and I went ring shopping!

Hi, I enjoyed reading your PJ! I loved your "must do's" for you to accept the marriage proposal, I always wanted to ice skate there! Just hang in there with the family stuff...remember this is your time!

I'm so envious over your wedding dress choices, you looked wonderful in all of them...I agree with OP, I loved the one that you felt was "too much" for you....but only you know what you'd be most comfortable in.

Enjoy your planning, and be careful, the time sneeks up on you! :scared1:

I never thought of that! That's a great idea!

Thanks...If I find anything I'll post it.

The rink is much smaller than what you would expect and b/c it was raining all day the ice was soft, the blades on the skates were dull...The memories-worth it!

As for the wedding dresses. That was just the first try them on attempt. We're opting to look elsewhere. Nothing said "I'm the one!!!" Which I guess is good considering the wedding is 2 years away. I definitely do not like the sheath/mermaid style dresses and no empire waists either. So, I've narrowed it down a bit... :rotfl:

I told my mom today that the look I'm going for is stunning. I'm going to remember this one day for the rest of my life. I want DF's breath taken away when I walk down the aisle. But my one concern is that with only 6 guests-maybe 3 if DF's sibs can't make it, the WP is going to look empty. So, I'm trying to find a way to bring it all together...I'm not sure how I am going to do that yet without breaking the floral budget. :confused3 I'll have to ponder that one a bit.

I am sure the time will sneak up on me...but for right now...I have time. I'm enjoying the planning stage and I'm glad I'll get to change my mind 100 + times. It's the end result that matters.

Have a good night.

I figure b/c I have such a long way to go there will be a number of these "mini-updates." I've already started my notebook for ideas that pop into my head unexpectedly. :lmao: Sometimes I find things here.
Today, I found the thread on Grand 1. When I saw the pics of the boat I was all over it. DF quickly squashed the idea :sad2: and said that he didn't want a desert party. When I explained that we would be watching the fireworks-ok a small detail that I forgot to mention...it was early and I was reading about wedding stuff, not prepared to talk about it. He seemed better with the idea. Then I told him the cost. Nope, back to not liking the idea. I tried to explain that I wanted something for our guests. Something amazing. We don't dance, we aren't having a real "reception." He explains that we can get a cookie and watch the fireworks for free either from our hotel room or at the park-so why spend all of that money for an extra brownie? :lmao: Ok he had me on that one-even if I think it's worth all that money for the brownie and the opportunity to get to wear my dress longer-he had a point. But still. I wanted something. So, my darling DF says "Ok if that is the case, I'd rather do dinner and then go to Cirque du Soleil (<-sp?) Hmmm...ok...I'll take the idea...We looked at ticket prices...reasonable. And we would get a lot more action for our dollar-Grand 1 was like $480/hour...CDS $117-53/person for ~1.5 hours (our guest list is small-very small) Hmmm. I kind of like the idea. Not lovin it yet....I dout I can wear my dress-wouldn't want to for that long-I'd need 2 seats! :rotfl2: ...but there is nothing saying I can't get a short white dress for the evening events...Hmm... I have to think about that. Some juggling of my ideal schedule...Sometimes it takes me a bit to like something that is his idea. I have an even harder time with (shh...don't tell him I said this) when he's right!!! :lmao:

So, maybe I don't get to wear my dress through out the day...but I get the option of 2 dresses... More shopping!!! :thumbsup2

Ok I've got pics of my something blue and my tiara-Yes, I have my tiara and no dress. Long story. Stay tuned for that tomorrow...

This no school thing is killing me. This is the longest I've ever gone with out having some deadline to meet. So, please bear with the mini-updates, multiple pictures and random thoughts. I'm sooo bored! :rolleyes1

Cirque du Soleil is a great idea!! It's such a fun show. Plus, having a second dress would be fun!!

My DFiance poo pooed the Grand 1 too. Maybe I'll borrow your Cirque idea if you don't mind...:rolleyes1 .

Nope...I'm a big fan of the CASE principle. Copy And Share Everything :rotfl:
I was really impressed with the idea too (Shh. Don't tell DF! :lmao:)

Any of those dresses will be perfect for you. They are all so pretty. Your Disney wedding fund jug is so cute lol.
