We are trying to decide whether to use flower petals or bubbles for our exit at the Wedding Pavillion. Carrie's (lurkyloo) picture of the petal toss is just exquisite! So, here are the questions:
If we do flower petals, do they have to be real?
If so, can we only buy them through Disney Floral?
How much do they cost?
If we can do silk, can we bring our own in cones or glassine envelopes or organza bags and have them put on the chairs with the programs?

Alternatively, what does everyone think of bubbles?

Good question! I'm wondering about this too. Caryn (as we all know) did bubbles and they were nice. I hear that they can stain your dress... maybe one of the other girls can confirm this. I wonder about the clean up of rose petals though... I'd rather not be sweeping up rose petals in a wedding dress.

I like both ideas. The bubbles are probably easier cleanup but I love the look of the rose petals so I would so do the rose petals and let a groomsman sweep them all up.

We had bubbles and I loved them. They came out really well on the picture too. I didn't notice any staining on my dress afterwards but there was a lace overlay on it

We have been talking about this today. My DF wants bubbles but my mum thinks we should have petals. I'm not sure what option I like best.

we are going to have petals, last week when I bought my dress, one of the first things the sales woman said was the bubbles can leave marks on the dress because it is silk. It probably depends on what type of fabric the dress is. We are using white petals to make sure they don't stain anything either.

As far as I know you can provide your own petals. Not sure if they can be silk because they will probably blow around and end up in the water etc. Try flyboys natural for freeze dried petals at reasonable costs.

They do have to be real petals for the safety of the animals. I am sure you could bring your own, but it's easier to let Disney handle it in my opinion. I didn't do a petal toss as we just had an escape wedding, but we used petals on the cake table and sand ceremony table.

I found the cost of real rose petals to be not worth it, so I choose bubbles... which I was so happy with. I actually bought a few boxes of nice bubble wands from wal mart then tied a matching color ribbon around the loop of the top. I gave them to our weeding planner when I got down there and she gave them out after the ceremony. I loved the way the pictures turned out with the bubbles, it looks so magical!!!!!!!! Especially with the coach in the picture it looks so beautiful! I also, did not notice any staining or anything on my dress.

i did petals and i loved it. it was my favorite part of the whole day! and i think they came out nice in pictures.
here is a pic of mine

I vote for petals, I have a tulle on satin gown and was told that bubbles would stain it (not visible immediately, but it time it would show up). Also I think being showered in petals would feel amazing. A shower of bubbles might be icky and sticky. :confused3

We are going to have petals at SBP. We are going to have a basket that everyone can take a handful from as they exit. It is going to be $100 for enough handfuls for 46 people. Disney is providing the basket at no additional cost and Disney is setting it up and cleaning it up.

I was considering using freeze dried petals, but the impression I got from Disney was that we would also be responsible for cleanup, if we set them up. Or if we asked them to set/clean them up, there would be a fee. So it didn't seem worth it to do it on our own.

I vote for the rose petals too!!I love how they look in the photos!!

I think this is a reasonable price if they are going to set them up and clean up.

I Did The Petals I Had White Rose Petals And Blue Hydrangea Petals And It Was $144, Disney Set It Up, And Cleaned Up And Handed Them Out To Guests, I'll Put Up A Pict Tomorrow!
I Saw Some Black &white Picts Of Petals Being Thrown And They Colored Only The Petals It Was A Beautiful Pict! Its Actually In A Book At Franc's!
I Loved The Petals!!!!!!!

We used bubbles, b/c the petals were a bit pricey. I loved the bubbles, but wish we had had more people participate in it. Make sure that you "seed" the crowd with people that have lots of "air".

We went with bubbles because I thought the petals were too pricey. I ordered the bubbles from a-bay and tied pink and green ribbons on the bottles all for a faction of the price of petals. My dress was silk and there was absolutely no staining on it. For the staged exit our WP made sure everyone had a bottle and was ready to go with them when we walked through. It looked so great and made for some of my favorite pics and video moments.

My dress was taffeta, and bubbles would have stained it. I'm glad we used petals even though it was more expensive. I love how they looked!

They both look good, but I think I like the way the bubbles look more in the photos. Plus the guests would have more fun playing with them I'd think.
