Some things that have been grating on me:

1). The word "anywho".

2). People who refer to a tax refund as a tax return. Two entirely different things!

3). Ebola, news about Ebola, ridiculous fears about Ebola, lack of medical knowledge and leadership regarding Ebola. Living here in Dallas may make this worse than other parts of the country, but the hysteria seems to be everywhere.

4). Rude, aggressive drivers. Would it really slow you down to allow someone to merge into that lane?

5). Mean, critical people.

6). Online spammers and telephone marketing calls.

7). My garage door that won't close right if the sun is shining directly on the sensor eye.

Okay, I feel better now. :)

Maybe I'm just crazy tolerant, but I don't have any pet peeves! :goodvibes

At least, not any that aren't Disney or video game specific, haha!

Things that grate on your nerves just plain stink. ::yes::

I hear ya Kathy!

My pet peeve for the night is the sense of entitlement people have. Girl stands in a parking space so her friend can move literally 6 feet from where she was parked already. A guy was trying to back into the space and she would not move. Obviously it came down to him not wanting to be late for class but good golly, his car is 1/2 in the space. I think a car in a parking space trumps a person in a parking space. Is it really that hard to walk 6 extra feet?!?!?

My other pet peeve is foul mouthed people, mostly the young adults. Again sitting at the college, waiting for DS18. This group of kids were just nasty. Loud, using the N word every other word, calling people the R word, gay bashing. DD8, DS12 and DS14 were all with me and even with headphones on they had to listen to this and no matter where we sat we couldn't escape it, they were so loud. They were even banging on the glass walls to scare people outside. DD was giving them the supreme stink eye!

Between those 2 incidents in the last 2 days DS18 wants to leave the school. There are so many opportunities there including the Disney College Program for culinary but he's just so done with the behavior of his peers. It makes me so mad that DS would sacrifice his goals because of other stupid people.

Employers who can not take the time to send out a "sorry but you are not successful" letter i response to job applications.

Applicants take the time and make a huge effort to apply for jobs, only to be left hanging, waiting and hoping they are in with a chance, and hear nothing for weeks on end.

In the past month, my daughter who is almost finished high school, has applied for over 15 jobs, only 2 have responded to her.

I just find it down right rude.

1. Drivers who pull out right in front of you (when no one else is behind you, so they definitely could have waited a couple of seconds) and then go slow, or even worse make another turn a quarter mile up the road.

2. Moving over so a driver can merge into the lane on the highway then they are yacking on their phone and don't even pay attention that they are now going the same speed I am so I can't get back into the driving lane (out of the passing lane) so I either have to speed up to get around them or slow down to get in behind them. If someone is courteous enough to move over and let you in, let them get back in!!

3. The CAFO (concentrated animal feeding operation) up the road from us.

4. Barking dogs.

5. People who use their cell phones or talk out loud in movie theaters.

6. People at Disney who talk to each other when you're at an attraction where the naration, CM, etc. needs to be heard.

7. People who make fun of or belittle other people. Are you still in junior high? Grow up.

Practically no one does this anymore and it irks my sense of etiquette too. I'm a mid-level manager responsible for hiring in my department and my higher-up had expressly prohibited me from sending such letters. :sad1: I feel bad about this, as if I'm personally being impolite. I have, on occasion, sent the odd surreptitious e-mail to a candidate against company policy.

My peeve is people who make sarcasm and snark a way of life instead of just honestly asking for what they want. Yesterday at the store I inadvertently lined up in the wrong place. A lady that was there before me said very loudly to her companion "I guess some people just do what ever the h**l they want." instead of simply telling me the line was formed behind her. I could give hundreds more examples of this. I'd even prefer open, direct hostility over this passive-aggressive ridiculousness.

People who get on the bus last & then expect someone to give up their seat for them. Um, NO! I declined a standing spot on the last bus so I could have a seat on this one. You can wait for the next one just as I did.

Rude parkers. I hate when I come out of a store and somebody is inches from my car. Once I had to slide in between the cars and I barely was able to squeeze in my car. Honestly, take the extra 10 seconds to back up and straighten out your car.

Ones that are on my mind today:

1) Kids who don't know or just plain don't follow crosswalk etiquette(not screwing around, walking bikes or scooters etc...)

2) Kids who play in other people's yard without permission. I was always taught to keep off of other people's lawns. When I see kids just walking straight through yards or playing around on someone's grass walking home from school it irritates me.

3) People who bring their pets into the schoolyard to pick up/drop off their children. Out front on the sidewalk? Fine. Inside the fenced area? Not cool. I'm about as animal friendly as they come, but they don't need to be IN the schoolyard. There are a million kids running around(which could scare the dog or kids who are afraid of dogs) and then there is the whole dogs crapping by the playground issue...

When someone says "Let me be clear" or "It is very clear that..." when, in fact, it is not clear!

Just because you say it is clear, doesn't make it clear.

People who believe, and share on facebook, stories from The Onion, Political Ears, and other satirical sites. AND when you point out that the fear mongering story they just shared is not legitimate, they say it must be true, because facebook would remove it otherwise :badpc::badpc::badpc:

People who root against a sports team. I can understand you don't want to root for them but don't root against them. Cheer for your team don't specifically cheer against another, unless it is dependent upon your team advancing in the league.

My husband's inability to watch any type of show. Stop changing the darn channel every time a commercial comes on and then never turning it back in time to see the part I was interested in!

My mother.

5th grade drama. Literally, all the drama that is around elementary school. I became a recess monitor this year and the drama that can ensue in the span of 18 short minutes is unbelievable!

Webmaster Kathy, you may have solved a mystery regarding our garage door. Thank you! :thumbsup2

My gripe of the week is about people who don't pay attention to notes sent home from school.

Early last week, my classroom teacher (I'm an aide) sent out a flyer describing a field trip, along with a permission slip. The trip was yesterday. The signed permission slip and money were due on Monday. As of the end of the day Monday, we had responses from exactly three of our 12 families. Upon reminding them about the due date, several people said a) they didn't see it or, b) they saw it but lost it and can they please have another copy? We really should have cut it off at the deadline, but then we would have parents complaining to the principal that their child didn't get to go. The principal would probably back us up, but then we would have unhappy parents for the rest of the year, just looking to call us out on something else. It's just not worth it. So yesterday morning while waiting for the field trip bus, we had parents standing outside and signing permission slips and digging out money. We had a teacher from another school, who was planning the trip, asking for a final count. We honestly couldn't give her one until we boarded the bus. Why? Because people can't seem to handle pulling a piece of paper out of their child's backpack, taking note of the due date, signing it and sending it back.

We have the same issue with Scouting. How hard is it to click the link on the email, click the yes or no button and hit send? Seriously.

So that would be one of my pet peeves. People who don't respond when they should.

2. People who can't spell (or choose not to use the correct version) of simple words.
To, too, two
You're, your
accept, except

3. Bad drivers. There is no need to tailgate me--I usually am doing 5 over the speed limit, and I prefer the right or middle lanes. If I can safely move over to let your speeding behind by, I will, but until I do, back off. Also, learn to merge, people in Florida. It's one in, one drive by, one in---like a zipper on your pants. Keeps things moving, and is much safer than 4 guys driving like maniacs to get to the front of the line, then slamming on their brakes and nearly side swiping other people.

4. As someone else posted, people using cell phones (or Ipads or any other electronic device) in the movie theater. Once those lights start going down and the previews start, turn that stuff off.

Schools not updating their web sites - I don't need to know the calendar from last year thankyouverymuch.

Pedestrians who wave you on when you stop to let them cross. Really?

Tourists. Sorry, nuff said.

And right now being told I have a better chance of dying from the Flu than from Ebola. Um, thanks? I guess.... I really can worry about both at the same time ya know. And I'm keeping an eye on coconut trees as well. ;)

My Pet Peeve is that the schools send home SO many sheets of paper everyday that it takes forever to distinguish what is important and what isn't. ;)
