Who FORCES anyone else to listen to their cell phone calls?
To quote Billy Crystal in "
Mr. Saturday Night," don't get me started.....
- The loud, pretentious type A lobbysit in the seat behind you, 22 seconds after the shuttle lands in Washington, D.C. (no, they are not responsive to polite requests to change
any of their behavior).
- A number of Senior Executives I regularly deal with (in meetings where their subordinates are not exactly in a position to say "can it, Jack.")
- The Brazillian in line behind me at Snow White in the Magic Kingdom ("ahem, excuse me....."no comprenede" grin grin)
Now, anyone who tries to "deal" with this via technology (which again I am
not blessing, some here apparently
never learned 'don't shoot the messenger") is apparently being summarily labeled "passive/aggressive." Pray tell, what is the term for the pathology held by the people who are
so addicted to the phone that they feel the need to access it anytime and anywhere, irrespective of whether it's appropriate or polite?
Normal? Yes, certainly

On private property owners using jammers to block out guests' phone calls, you need to cite something to back up this claim. I don't know of anyone who does this. Call me naive, but I'm skeptical about whether anyone outside govt. does this.
You wouldn't know of them, because the businesses and organizations employing them understandably don't promote that fact. It's not on CNN or Oprah. But the documentation is out there:

Note the verbiage "
Israeli, who asserted that the device had been sold to American customers but would not name them"

And let's not bring in terrorism as a justification for blocking a WDW guests' cell phone call.
I'm not, you are confusing my mention of Homeland Security -- and the fact it may do de-facto result in EXACTLY what you say is "ridiculous' -- with "promotion" or "justification" of cell phone jamming.
It is isn't. Simply an example to show the outcome people fear could come about through multiple means.
