Ok, so we decided to cancel our April trip for this year and are instead going the last week of September 2010. I was looking over my packing list and editing it to deal with the heat, humidity and MNSSHP we plan to attend.

Should I add bug spray to the list?

I've never been to FL period but I know how heat and the humidity can bring out the swarms of mosquitos and such.

We are September goers usually and though we do take bug spray with us, we only give our legs a dose if we're going to hang at the beach, WL, at night for the EWP or wander FW in the evenings. Seems to be more sand fleas in the sand areas and wooded sections of FW than at actual resorts and parks. Packing a small bottle or stick is no big deal, better to have than to be out looking. When we forgot ours, those sand fleas or what have you, make for some unpleasant nights scratching ankles to no end, and nothing beats straight ammonia to relieving the urge over counter medicstions. Pack it, carry it and late evenings around the sand beaches and wooded areas, use it.

We were there last September and it wasn't a problem at all. I'm allergic to many bug bites so even small bites bother me a lot and we didn't get the bug spray out once.

Thanks for the tips. I guess I will add it to my list. Like pepe said its better to have it just in case.

I prefer the Off individually packaged towelettes to the spray. It's easier to carry and to apply.

Oh see, I never even knew they had the towlettes!!! Those would be perfect to throw in the bag. I'll have to keep an eye out for them. Thanks
